"Doubt is a disease that infects the mind creating a mistrust of peoples motives and ones own perceptions. Doubt has the ability to call into questions everything you ever believed about someone and reinforce the darkest suspicions of our inner circle."
The smell of the sea intoxicated the area and the little noises from the birds added more peace to the area. I found bear in my backyard porch, I can't imagine how worried Niall might be.
I grabbed the first taxi to his familys restaurant. I tried not to stare anything around me because I know the nostalgia will hit me. Coming here with my mother and the memories hitting me will only cause a mental break down which I wasn't ready for. Not until I finish this mission.
I almost forgot how beautiful this place was. I snapped out of my trance when I felt Bear run out from my grips and into his owners arms.
"There you are Bear! We was worried sick." Niall crouches down and hugs his dog, relieved was an understatement. He looks up and smiles.
"Amelia right? Did you find bear?" He asks and I just nod my head. He wraps his arms around me and hugs me in happiness and gratefulness. You really haven't changed Niall.
"I'm sorry I'm just really happy. We have all been looking for him. Where did you find him?" I think he noticed how awkward I felt. I hadn't hugged him in so many years so to be held in his arms again felt strange but I felt safe. I was always safe in his arms.
"It's okay and actually he was at my back porch, I moved into Katherine Garcia's old place." I watched as his eyes widen and his focus was solely on his dog.
"He went there? He hasn't been there is so long. I don't know why he would just randomly show up there. Your new home use to be his old house 13 years ago. Someone else owned Bear originally. She was a great friend of mine but she left and well I took responsibility." He breaths out, shocked by his dogs actions and I just nodded my head.
I knew why. Because he was finally returning to his owner. My bear was all grown up but he never forgot me. Thank you bear for remembering me and loving me regardless.
"I should get going, I only came to drop your dog off."
"Wait, please stay. Let me at least make some food for you to take with you on your journey back as a little thank you."
I just shook my head and explained how I've had a really busy day and made my way back home.
[The next day]
"Thank you." I nodded at the staff passing me my glass of wine and walked into the Styles Manor. I could see Maya running like a dog trying to make sure everything was perfect. Flyers and banners were everywhere. Pictures of every huge achievement framed around the house.
Disgusting.
A large hand was placed on my lower back and it pulled me closer to his body, his perfume filling my nostrils. Harry smelt great.
"Hey, you" he whispers and gives me a small peck on my lips. I was kind of surprised by his gesture, I didn't think we would even show me such affection at a really important event. Especially when it's only been less than a week and we weren't even a couple. He must really like me if he was moving this fast with me.
You've hit the jackpot Amelia.
I spun my body to face him and he took my glass of wine from my hand to take a sip and he wraps his other hand completely round my waist, pulling me closer to his embrace. I just gave him that look and he gave me a cheeky smile, sipping all of my wine. My hands moved to the black tie wrapped terribly around his white shirt trying to fix his poor attempt. Are men really this useless?
