"For the innocent, the past may hold a reward, but for the treacherous it's only a matter of time before the past delivers what they truly deserve."
The dress clung very nicely against my figure. I patted it one more time, analysing it through the mirror. This has to be perfect. I have to be perfect. I made sure my heels were glistening and I wore my most expensive necklace. I needed to make an impression.
I slung my small hand bag around my shoulder before I headed out the door. Deep breaths Amelia, you can do this. you will do this.
Do it for your mother.
I took large strides to the biggest mansion in America. It was a sight for sore eyes. The outside of the building was enough to show just how beautiful and well built it was, every minuscule detail was thought about. Surprisingly you'd think your neighbours house would be quick to go to? Not for this family no. The big gate meant having to walk a little bit further to reach the main entrance.
94 Styles Family.
I scoffed at the plaque at the huge gate entrance. Family? We shall see.
"Hello how may I help you?" A monotoned robot like voice had come through the intercom buzzer.
"Hello, my name is Amelia Ellison. I was invited by Maya Henry, the family's assistant." I reply politely, who knows who is watching me with all their cameras cornering every inch of this place.
Not a warning was given and the security team decided to allow the loud rumbles of the gate to open. It took me slightly off guard at how extra this family could be.
Deep breaths Amelia. You've spent all those years training, fighting and practising to be where you are now. Don't ruin it.
I gave a polite nod to the intercom, assuming they would have a camera there, I mean how could they not? Whilst giving my self the pep talk, I was already at the front door. I knocked once. nothing. again. nothing. They're right when they say third lucks a charm, because before I could knock for the third time I was engulfed by two slim arms around my waist.
"Amelia you're here!" A shriek of excitement rang through my ears as I hugged her back.
"Gosh I missed you too Maya." We both laughed and let go of our embrace and she made way for me to enter this house.
"Wow this house is beautiful." I examined every inch of this place before I landed back on Maya. Before I could say anything I felt a cold presence enter the room. The clicks of her heels were made apparent as she strides towards us for an introduction.
My blood boiled before I could even turn around and be face to face with those eyes once again. The tension in the room was very high, even Maya shifted uncomfortably and looked down as if she was inferior to them.
"Maya who do we have here." The fake politeness in her voice was very much evident.
"Mrs.Styles, this is Amelia. A great friend of mine and your new neighbour." She squeaked, I felt nervous for her. I faced the woman in front of me and I looked her in the eyes. I could still see it. Evil. Pure evil in her eyes.
"Hello Mrs. Styles, my name is Amelia Ellison." I once again faked the politeness, it made me want to gauge my eyes out. To be kind to such a woman made me sick. Do it for your mother Amelia. Do it for her.
"Ah, so you're the new neighbour who has moved into Katherine Garcia's place. I hope you're aware of the history." It's as if she liked boosting about her vile crimes. She gained some pleasure mentioning the things she has committed.
"Yes I am aware, but the woman had great taste. It's a beautiful view and the porch is absolutely lovely. I just couldn't resist. The place is so local and is accessible to everything." Again the politeness only made me cringe.
