"They say let he who is without sin cast the first stone. And to be without sin requires absolute forgiveness. But when your memories are freshly opened wounds, forgiveness is the most unnatural of human emotions."

Takedown 2 was taking much longer than I anticipated and laying down next to Harry everyday was destroying me.

Being surrounded by him and his family made my stomach churn, but when I needed someone Harry was there. His mother hit a past of mine and a part of me I couldn't control my emotions to and he just happened to be the only person to help me. I didn't like him, right?

Regardless, it brought us closer than ever and that's exactly where I needed us to be. With his mother's agenda against me and leaving the manor completely ashamed once again, only caused the friction between the family to increase.

And I was loving every minute of it.

Desmond and Gemma tried to reach out and made a surprise visit to my home with an apology basket. To say they were on talking terms with Anne would be an exaggeration because no one wanted to be anywhere near her never mind indulge in a conversation. Even Helen didn't bother Mrs.Styles regardless of her Helen's boss, she only said two phrases, "yes ma'am" or "no ma'am."

The constant shifting on my left side of the bed brought me back from my thoughts, and now i was overthinking about how powerful the sun is. A golden sun ray was creeping through the barely visible gaps of the two closed materials hanging on my window and caressing his skin.

Harry was sleeping on his stomach so the sun had full access to his back and glistening all over it, showcasing all the minuscule details on his tattoos.

I envied the black ink engraved to his skin, because they meant the world to Harry - each and every single one held a story. A story that means so much to him, a part I don't know I'll ever learn. Let's not forget the ink was permanently stuck on his skin but ever since I've been held by Harry I was tainted by them. Every inch of my skin was spoilt and I don't like the touch of any fingertip unless a small cool feeling of a ring hits my skin too - his rings specifically.

Every part of his body was relaxed and his face looked peaceful tucked in his pillow. Soon the muscles in his body were more tense and he began shuffling between the sheets to make eye contact.

"morning baby." Harry's voice was raspy, like an old man, even though his face was young. His accent still looming around as if he came fresh off the airplane from England.

I offered a small smile and inched my body closer to his, resting my head on his bare chest and letting myself be embraced by his touch.

"can we lay in bed like this forever?" I mumbled, pushing our bodies closer and sliding a free arm near his neck to get rid of any gap between us.

"That sounds very tempting but you promised my parents to attend their annual scholarship party, now they're expecting us to be there." His green eyes rolled slightly to the back of his head at the mention of his parents; more specifically his mother.

"Harry, I'm trying to make amends with her, she's still your mum at the end of the day and all I want is for her to at least tolerate me. So even if I have to drag you there, I will." I huffed, annoyance clearly written all over both our faces.

"You've done more than enough Mels. She hasn't apologised for every spiteful thing she said to you, you can't let her speak to you like that." He wasn't impressed by my response, whenever I tried mentioning any reconciliation between Anne and us he shuts it down.

He really had enough.

"She's your mother. I'll admit, she might've gone overboard but she doesn't know what else to do. Cmon Harry give her one more chance; if not for her at least do it for me?" And when the last sentence left my lips I knew i had won, there wasn't anything he wouldn't do for me, even if it meant forgiving Anne for the humiliation she had put me through.
