The next day, Elliot headed home after a lavish breakfast and a quick make out session.
The rest of the weekend was spent helping his mother decorate a wedding cake followed by some homework. Weeks passed with the same routine.
When one Monday rolled around, he forced himself out of bed and off to school. Today was going to be a bad day, he could feel it.
The boy wasn't more than an hour into the day when David and his idiot friends pinned him against the lockers in the east wing, far enough that no one would hear them.
"Well if it isn't our little faggot." He smirked and grabbed his chin, looking him over. "So what's this I hear about you hanging out with Nathan Acetarium? Hmm? You got a little crush?"
"Back off David." Elliot snapped and bit at his hand.
David drew his hand back and hit him hard across the cheek. "Shut up... Now. What's this? You got a crush on him? You want him to fuck you? You want to fuck him? Hm? Is that it?"
"We are just friends!" He insisted.
"Sure. Just friends? You have a fantasy about pinning him up? Screwing him!?" He laughed and his friends shoved Elliot back again. "The little queer doesn't get it. He's straight. He won't love a useless piece of shit like you." He smirked and punched him in the stomach again and again.
Eliot cried out and struggled against them, feeling like he was gonna lose his breakfast.
"Queer." One of the spit.
"Useless fucking creep." Another muttered.
David pulled back. "Luke, let me see his wrists... Let's see if the little baby has added anything to his collection."
The one on the right pushed up on his shirt, showing jagged lines and faded words carved on his wrist.
Elliot looked away and screwed his eyes shut. "Stop..." He whimpered and started shaking, tearing up. "Please stop.."David leaned closer and laughed. "You will always be nothing. You will always be useless. You're a nobody. You're a waste of space..." He stepped back. "Let the queer cry. Come on. Let's go."
The group turned and walked off but not before Luke got a few kicks right to his chest. "Have fun fucking your boyfriend."
Elliot laid on the floor, curled up and clutching his stomach. He shook with silent sobs and traced his thumb across the veins on his wrist. He could feel the raised scars and shuddered from it.
A faint voice called his name from somewhere but he didn't pay much attention to it. That was until Nathan was at his side, hauling him to his feet and helping him through the crowds of people. Students looked at them, whispering and gossiping.
Nathan kept his head up as they walked, arriving at the nurses office where the woman looked him over and dismissed him.
"You have to help him." Nathan insisted, keeping an arm around him. "He's hurt. It's your job to help him."
She shook her head. "It's not. Get him out of here. He's fine."
"He's bleeding!" Nathan growled and pointed to the small amount of blood that dripped from Elliot's lips.
"I said get him out of my office. He comes in here every day with this get up, making it seem like he's hurt. Get him out." The woman growled and pushed them towards the door.
"She never helps, Nathan..." Elliot mumbled, "it's okay..."
"It's not okay!" He fumed and glared at the nurse. "I can't believe they did this to you. I'm taking you home." He growled.
"No. No Nate stop. Eve is gonna freak out."
"Well yeah of course she will! Look at you."
Elliot forced himself to stand up. "I'm okay. I'm okay Nate, I just need to walk it off."
"Elliot you're hurt!"
"I'm fine." He insisted and took his hands, wincing. "I promise."
Nathan sighed and shook his head, standing on his toes to kiss him softly.
"I'm okay." Elliot assured. "I'm okay." He whispered before falling over and passing out.
-:-"You were right to bring him here." Eve whispered and rubbed Nathan's arms. "Thank you."
"I can't believe they did that to him."
"This is what they always do to him." She sighed and sat down next to Elliot. "I remember the first time they did it, freshman year... I mean they always picked on him but it was the first time they hit him. He came home and he was so sad. He wouldn't even look at me. I begged him to talk to me and he just wouldn't. He didn't talk to me for days, he wouldn't eat, I don't think he even slept."
"And it was all because a few bullies said some mean things?" Nathan asked softly.
"No." Eve shook her head. "It was because some jerks singled out my son. Because they made him feel like his life isn't worth living. They made him feel like he was useless and worthless." She sniffled and wiped away the tears that fell down her cheeks. "They took all of his confidence. They made him feel like he was a burden and like no one loved him.... They hurt him like he's nothing and they don't see how amazing he is."
Nathan looked to his boyfriend and sniffled himself, feeling himself hurt as he laid down next to him, nuzzling close.
Eve stood and left them alone, knowing her son was in caring hands.
Nathan kissed his cheek and held his hand, whispering to him. "I've got you.... I love you."
