'Ava! Ava! Stop!' I paused at the entrance, unable to ignore his pleas any longer and I turned to him, trying to keep my face as straight as possible, as much as I was feeling like I wanted to break something.

'Kam, I'm sorry,' I said to him, as he caught up with me.

'Where are you going?' he asked, panic in his tone.

'I just have to leave, Kam, I have to go,' I said, stepping back to try and get away from this place.

'Ava, you randomly just bolted and ran off, you have to tell me what's wrong!' Kam exclaimed. 'You're worrying me!'

'There's nothing to worry about, please, I just have to leave right now, Kam!' I pleaded for him to let it go. 'I will explain everything in time!'

I didn't wait for him to argue with me again, I ran out of the door, down the steps and onto the street where I scoured the kerbside for a taxi. As soon as I spotted one, I ran and climbed inside, demanding the driver to take me home.

How dare Caden? How dare he kiss her on purpose to purposefully try and get to me? I didn't care if he wanted to kiss her, touch her, sleep with her, but I would not be disrespected by him thinking he could rub it in my face. Whatever his goal was, I know it involved trying to piss me off and it worked. I couldn't stay in that venue with him any longer. I refused to be around his toxic behaviour.

Once I arrived home, I kicked my heels across the hallway aggressively and hurried to my room where I practically ripped off the dress followed by my jewellery. I put on some satin pyjamas and grabbed my hairbrush, brushing out the product and my hair was left in messy waves. Now that I was home, I was pissed off at myself for letting him ruin my night. I also felt terribly guilty for leaving Kam but I knew he had other friends at VC or he would make friends; he was good at that.

Strolling to the kitchen, I grabbed a king size pack of Cheetos from the cupboard and moved to the lounge, flopping into a chair and tearing the bag open. I wished I'd never began things with Caden Clark. It was supposed to be simple...just sex and that was it. It felt more complicated and confusing than anything else I'd ever experienced.

The door opened and Keira strolled in with a bottle of wine in one hand and a huge chocolate bar in the other.

'Ava?' She hurried into the lounge as she spotted me and I stared back at her with a numb expression. It was exactly how I was feeling. 'Why are you here?'

'I left,' I murmured.

'What did he do?' Her tone was shaky and pissed.

'He kissed a girl right in front of my face,' I mumbled.

Keira sighed and sat down on the sofa opposite me. 'Ava, things like that aren't supposed to bother you.'

'I know,' I sighed. 'It doesn't bother me. It pisses me off.'
