The bird scene wasn't so bad. If not, a little depressing. You didn't like the character you had to play, but you guessed you still had to do it. The entire time you were practicing, your mind kept wandering, mostly to Jade, but onto other things. This is why you wanted to act, so that way you could pretend you couldn't hear your inner thoughts. Practise went swimmingly, and you thought it was going well. You kept going through, and tweaking, and tweaking and tweaking, until it was as close to perfect as you could get.
'It still isn't enough, but it'll have to do.' You thought, as you went over the scene as many times as possible, which means you didn't sleep much, but since when did you ever?
When you got to class the next day, you acted it out in its entirety, getting the expressions perfect, and making sure to convey what it was telling. The dark circles under your eyes were hidden by concealer and makeup, and you made sure to wear appropriate costume. When you were done you bowed slightly, and waited for the dreaded judgement.
"Fantastic! But you still haven't passed L/n. Try again" The self deprecation hit you like a train, and you tried your best to defend yourself, trying not to sound as tearful and deflated as you felt.
"B-but i worked hard. I m-made sure it was a-as close to perf-fect as possible. Y-you can't just discredit my work b-because you think i didn't pass." You stuttered, and winced a little, your arms and hands shaking as you tapped your leg to stay awake. A chill went up your back and your head jerked to the side, you had to stay awake to hear him out. You just needed to last 'til lunch. You could do this.
The class clapped, and the people who weren't 'shruggers' looked at you a little concerned, but applauded all the same.
"You passed L/n. Good Job."
"Oh uh.,, thanks." You quickly exited the stage, sitting down in your seat as soon as possible, your leg still going and bouncing the chair. You scratched at your neck, slapped your leg, and played with your hair. You had to stay awake. You need to stay awake. It is imperative that you do so. You bit your lip as Sikowitz went over the next exercise, asking you to stay after class.
Shit not one semester and they want you to stay after class?
