Chapter Five: Meeting

The bell rang, and the end of class was signaled, and you freaked out, not hearing Tori telling you she would be waiting outside. The sleep was spiking your anxiety, and the (mostly milk) coffee you had this morning did not help, and you glanced everywhere in the room but at Sikowitz.

"Are you quite alright L/n?" He said in an unusual lilt. He sounded concerned, and looked at you as such. He sat on a chair backwards in front of you. Your body didn't have the energy to throw a complete mask up, so for now, your true desires stayed at bay, and that was it.

"F-fine? J-just a little tired 'm sorry" Your voice slowly dropped octaves, and you looked down at the floor.

"You seem a little burnt out and tired L/n. I will write you a pass for class, and get Tori to leave. You are to stay right there." You tried to object, but the warning bell rang, interrupting you.  He called into your classes, and told Tori to leave. You didn't know how he read you so well, but he did, as he started explaining.

"I know what tired looks like. As well as love" He chuckled a little knowingly. "But, L/n, it seems you worked yourself to the bone. Now follow me." He said his last sentence animatedly, as he walked you to the back hallway before his next class came rolling in. He had a small spot set up in the closet behind the class, it had a pillow, a blanket, a bottle of water and an old, worn novel. "This is mostly for my personal use L/n. But, it seems you need it more than I." He pushed you in, chuckling a little. "Get some rest, don't worry about classwork, you've been excused. And don't try to leave without getting sleep, or trying. Jade will stand guard." He chuckled again at his last statement, closing the door, before walking away, and Jade gazed at you through the door as you looked up at her, the filtered light from the hallway helping you make out her features.

You sighed, laying down, before glancing up one last time and shuddering at her gaze, and you turned away, slowly falling into completely fitful sleep.

(small) Sikowitz POV (before class)

"Ah. It does seem L/n is burnt out. Peculiar." Sikowitz said, having monitored Y/n after their first meeting with him. They always seemed so... tired. But this week it was different.

"Yeah, yeah Sikowitz. Just take care of L/n. And don't. Say. A word about this. Got it?" She said aggressively. Her already hardened scowl getting harder, into a piercing death glare at his next words.

"But of course! Would you be so kind as to make sure they're sleeping? As you know, I do have a class next." Sikowitz said, in his usual lilt, raising his eyebrows slightly as per his usual gestures, his free hand talking with him, a bit animatedly as he sipped from his coconut.

"It would be my pleasure. After all, I was the one that told you about this." Jade said. Sikowitz noticed she was more open around him, and that she seemed much more snappy than usual. He also knew of her living situation, and unable to get her out of it, just supported her the best he could. Although, with Y/n, he could feel the tension emanating from them.

"But of course" He chuckled, before getting ready for next class. This was going to be interesting.
