Chapter 30

She walked in. Now I could see her face. She was wearing a face mask that was black with a Red Cross on it. Her nurse dress was very short. She had black gloves that went up to her arms and she wore black pumps. She also had tights on, certain parts looked, mitch match and it looked like she was cut under it. Her dress was so tight that you could see every curve of her body in it. I'm straight, but this woman looks sexy as hell. My jaw was practically open. She looked like she was dressing up for Halloween as a slutty nurse. She did look a little older than me. Maybe in her late teens or early twenties. Her eyes looked tired. Like she was crying or been yawning a lot. Or maybe she could've even been high. Who knows.

"What are you doing in Smiley's office girl?"

"I'm waiting for Smiley and my mom to come back."

"Oh ok. I'll just wait here with you."

She sat down in the seat in front of his desk. I sat down in Smiley's chair. She was staring so hard at me. I felt like we were having a staring contest. Seconds had gone by and neither of us had blinked. My eyes were starting to burn. She looked so unbothered. I tried holding it for as long as I could. "Ugh ok you win." I gave up.

"Babygirl, you weren't going to win against me anyways."

"Maybe because you have such big beady eyes."

"You sound like you're talking about red riding hood."

"Well then you're the wolf, Ms.—-. What's your name?"

"I'm nurse Ann, and you are?"

"Amor Kapoor."

"How lovely it is to meet you my dear." We reached over the desk and shook hands.

"So you're Smiley's assistant?"

"Yes, I work under Smiley. I help him with performing surgeries."

"Oh ok that's cool. How long have you been working together?"

"A few years actually, we're like partners."

"I don't mean to sound rude, but how did they allow you to wear that uniform? It looks nothing like other nurses' uniforms."

Ann chuckled. "Yes, I'm the head of the nurse staff. I'm more experienced and qualified so they allow me to wear this."

"Oh congratulations, that's funny how you and Smiley are the best of the best."

"Yea we strive to be the best in our field. There are people who try to beat us. We can never let them do better though. Me and Smiley keep up our skills constantly, there can't be any competition."

"Who would want to compete with you guys? You're obviously the best there is."

"Now babygirl you see it my way, exactly. Some people are just delusional. It's fun when we steal their patients and perform on them ourselves."

"I bet whoever is your competition is very mad about that."

"Extremely, now we have beef for life."

"I didn't know that the health field was so competitive. That's crazy."

"What field do you want to be in, my dear?"

"I want to go into law enforcement and become a lawyer. Hopefully I can help as many people as you and Smiley."

"That's so optimistic of you. You seem like a really good hearted person."

"Well yea, I try. I always want to strive to be the best I can be Ms.Ann. I could really learn a lot from you and Smiley."

"You sure can, we should all get together one day and we could help you gain some knowledge about your future."

"That would be great Ms.Ann, thankyou so much."

"No problem dear. I'm not sure though, me and Smiley do not see eye to eye on a lot of things. He might not want to."

"You guys are partners, why aren't you on the same page?"

"It's a very hopeless relationship we have.... as coworkers."

"Maybe you can continue to work together."

Ann's eyes looked dull as she looked at the ground. She seemed a little sad, I wonder why. "You know what it seems like Smiley is busy, I'll just talk to him some other day. This won't be the last time we speak. Goodbye Amor." I waved goodbye as she got up. She walked out of the room. I turned towards the window and admired the view until I heard someone coming in.

"Hey sweetie, sorry they only allowed one person in the bathroom at a time."

"It's fine."

Smiley walked in. "Hey, let me show you guys a tour of the hospital." Me and ma got up and followed Smiley.

We went to all the different floors except the basement. He showed us different departments and rooms all over the hospital. We got to see the ICU, lobby, delivery rooms, surgery rooms, pharmacy area, units, and wards.

We're currently on our way to the last room. It's on level 7 where the elderly stay. They have a full level for one's with health issues.

"Yea so basically this level has an art room, game room where we do bingo, theatre, and even a department for old veterans." The elevator stopped and we all got off. I have to say this tour isn't that bad. I love seeing places like these where they help citizens. It feels my heart up with joy to see all of these people being taken care of.

"Actually guys, I need to talk to the coordinator for the elderly, we need to change the daily schedule so some of them can have more time to do mini exercises. You can go anywhere but don't leave this floor." Smiley headed over to the office located right by the elevator.

"Honey, you can go explore. I'm going to just rest in this chair until Smiley gets back."

"Ok mom." I walked out of the main area into the theatre. I sat down and began watching what was playing. Awwwwe they were watching the notebook. It made me so sad to know that people could really forget the most important person in their life completely. I was starting to get too emotional so I went into the next room. It was the game room. It was huge. There were some elderly people playing bingo, knitting, reading magazines and newspapers, watching programmed television, and doing puzzles. It was so nice to see the whole community come together. Well not all, there were a lot of elderly in their hospital rooms, they were unable to leave. I sat down and watched them. After a while I had went over and played some games with them. Alot of time had passed. I should probably be getting back to the main area where ma is. I was about to walk out when I noticed there was one more room. I hurried up and peaked in. It was a beautiful room covered in art. On the left side there was no wall just giant windows. The light filled up the room. I listened to what the instructor was saying.
