Chapter 36

"Well bestie, you did just go on your date and we want to know how it went, hopefully it was terrible."

"Oh shut up Ben." Clockwork said as she pushed Ben.

"Well sorry to disappoint you Ben but it was great. We talked in the coffee shop for a while and got to know each other. Then he took me to this secluded beach and we walked along the shore together until it started raining."

"Oh no."

"Yea, exactly so we started running until we got into a building which we realized was a bowling alley so we spent the rest of our date there."

Ben rolled his eyes. "Ugh spare me the details, is that it?"

"Well he kissed me on the cheek."

"Thank goodness he didn't go for the lips."

"Ben stop being so damn irritating, I had a really fun day. B is so amazing and similar to me. No one can relate to me, but he can. I really want this to be serious with him"

"You just met the guy, he only showed you his good side."

"How would you know?"

"It's just common sense, never trust a guy when you first meet him. It's never how it seems at first, you have to give it time to see his true colors."

"Oh it's common sense huh? So apparently I have no sense." I said sarcastically.

"I didn't say it like that, I just think you're rushing it. I don't want to see you get your heart broken."

"Thanks, but you're just being pessimistic."

"Ok whatever, I'm just trying to look out for you." Ben got up off of my bed and jumped into the tv. He's so dramatic. I don't even know why he's mad at me. He's the one being a nuisance.

Clockwork took my hand. "Don't worry about him. He'll come around soon. You know I'm actually surprised you went on this date."

"Really, why?"

"Well Ben talks about you sometimes in the mansion when the snitches are busy and it seemed to me like you had a crush on Ej."

"I--- what did he say?!"

"He said that the girl who he and Ej had just left was blushing because he touched you. Of course this was before I had any idea who you were, I knew you were the one Toby had to help Ej and Jeff save but I didn't know you were special."

"I'm going to kill Ben. What did everyone else say?"

"We were all just laughing because we knew if you were to see Ej in his true form you wouldn't be blushing at all."

"I don't get it. What's wrong with his demon form? Is it worse than Ben's?"

"It's worse than everyone in the mansion. I'm not trying to be dramatic but he's just so far past looking somewhat normal."

I looked down at the ground. I felt bad for Ej, no wonder why he's so antisocial. Everyone is horrified by him. No one deserves that.

"What did Jack say when Ben told you all about me blushing?"

"Which one?"

"Wait what do you mean?"

"There's two Jack's. One is Ej and one is Lj."

"I'm talking about Ej of course and what's their full name? I think Nina told me but I forgot."

"Ej didn't really say anything he just walked away but he's eyeless Jack and Lj is laughing Jack."

"Damn, he just walked away."

"Yea, don't take it personal. He's just detached from the whole idea of liking someone."

"I understand, but why do they call him eyeless Jack? Is he missing an eye like you?"

"Not exactly Amor, I replaced my eye with a clock but his are fully gone. Two empty eye sockets but with tar pouring out constantly. It's a hassle, there's always tar wherever he goes."

"Yikes, that does seem scary. I want to see it though. I've seen you, Ben, and Jeff's faces and I haven't freaked out at all lately."

"Well yea, me and Jeff are human. Our's is similar to yours so it's less scary. Ben's isn't that scary at all it's just the blood that comes out but Ej looks far from human."

"I'll judge that for myself one day. How is you and Toby?"

"We're great. I love him so much. Actually now that you mention it. I'm going to go back to the mansion after I complete a mission."

"Oh ok. It was nice talking to you Clockwork. See you again soon. Bye."

She waved back to me as she was jumping out of my window. I hope in the morning Ben stops being mad at me. I hate it when people are mad. I understand where he's coming from but B genuinely seems like a great guy, I think I can trust him.

I looked at the clock. It was 12 pm on Saturday. For the first time in a long time I had nothing planned to do today. I can just chill or relax. I got up and took a shower. After I was squeaky clean I brushed my teeth and did my hair.

I walked back into my room and thought of what I could do today. I'm going back to school on Monday since my 2 week break is almost over. I just need plans for today and Sunday. Ugh. What can I do? I put on a horror movie and made some popcorn. I sat back on my bed and began to watch it. It didn't even scary me. Not even a little. "This isn't even partially scary compared to the creepypastas." They're so weird looking that horror movies don't even excite me anymore. I turned off the movie and played some video games.

Ugh. It would be more fun if I had someone to play with. I've already decided to distance myself from Chaz, Mia, and Sophia for their own safety. It's not like I can call them over here. Ben was pretty good at playing these games but he's still mad from our dispute yesterday. I don't know what to do. I thought about getting on Tik Tok it's only going to last a few days before Trump bans it. I was about to click the app when I noticed my notifications. I saw that B had texted me last night.

Helen: Hey gorgeous, that date was so much fun, hope we can do it again very soon.

Me: I do too. Hopefully it will be very soon.

Helen: How soon?

Me: Mmm idk

Helen: What about today?

Me: Really? This early?

Helen: Maybe I just miss you.

Me: Well then let's meet up.

Helen: Want me to pick you up or do you want to meet at the hospital?

Me: Can you pick me up please?

Helen: I'll be there at 5. I have some errands to run before our 2nd date

Me: That's fine see you then

Ok so I just need to figure out what to do for the next 4 hours. Simple right?

Oh my goodness. Why the hell am I so bored? This is ridiculous. What do I usually do all day?

Well usually I'd either be with my friends, sleep, or like I've been doing recently talking with Ben. Great, don't tell me that I'm really over here missing a bunch of serial killers. Maybe I can apologize to him and we can be cool again. I looked down into my phone. "BEN!!!" I screamed into the phone. I waited awhile but I got no answer. He usually is always monitoring my electronics. Where could he possibly be?

"Hello?" I heard coming from the phone.
