I don't know if Target delivers/orders because I was too lazy to do research and Target isn't in my country. So I hope you can just pretend and work with it. Sorry in advance if I offended anyone.

Verena:
I'm staying at a friend's house. You can speak to the mother tomorrow I promise and I'll explain everything. I'm safe.

I sent the message while sitting at the table to both of my parents. I was nervous about what to say but after going with that, I powered off my phone. They're going to be pissed that I did but it was something I'll deal with tomorrow.

Three bottle waters Covan drank since we sat at the small table in the hotel room. His mother was trying to get some answers out of him based on why he acted out and disappeared on everyone. "Where were you?" She repeated her last five questions. I opened my mouth to tell her and Covan glared at me," don't you dare."

His mother who's name I learned was Reena, forbid me from leaving the table and Covan forbid me from trying to tell his mother where he was.

"Well then progress with me! I expect you to tell me things like these, how else am I supposed to trust you, Covan?" His mother rambled off. He groaned and stood up," I'm going to bed. We'll continue this tomorrow. Verena please don't say anything, I want to tell her myself," he says as he walked away, disappearing in one of the bedrooms.

Reena sighed beside me. "He was safe. Something could have happened but I got him on time," I softly said, trying to make her feel better. "All he ever does is talk to his father. One night after a party he told me it was his way of protecting me when he was drunk. When I asked him about it the next day he said he couldn't remember. But the weird thing is Covan always remembers his drunken moments, I just don't know," she ranted, running her hands down her face.

"I don't know what to say," I mumbled. Her eyes widened and she was quick to say," nothing! Don't worry about that. The room on the right is yours, go get some sleep and find me if there are problems." I nodded my head and said my goodbyes to her before going into the room.

It was a simple room. A small bed to the corner against the window. A table beside it with a clock and magazines, on the bed, had a blanket. I sighed in content and took off my shoes before getting into bed. Surprisingly, it wasn't a problem falling asleep since I was tired after all.

When I woke up the next day, I stared at the white unfamiliar ceiling for a minute before the memories of yesterday came flooding back. I was quick to bolt off the bed and run outside. When the scent of pancakes hit me, I curiously walked into the small kitchen. It only had a small stove, counter, and mini-fridge which was good enough to use.

"Good morning," I announced my entrance. Reena took her eyes off the pancakes and they lit up upon seeing me. "Good morning!" Reena cheered upon seeing me. She continued to flip pancakes that just smelt perfect. "Don't worry, I just checked the cars and they are fine and unharmed," she relieved me. Thank God, my father would kill me if his car had any damage.

"Oh thank you. Breakfast isn't necessary. I'll just brush my teeth and get out of here, I don't want to be a burden," I revealed, hoping to leave before Covan woke up. "I actually ordered some clothes for you to wear from Target so you have to stay," Reena announced, sounding unsure. "If I got the sizes wrong, sorry. It's a bit weird online so I guess we'll just have to work with what we got," she continued which explained why she was unsure.

I opened the bag and grabbed what felt like a t-shirt with holes on the shoulders and short pants that would possibly end mid-thigh. The other things left in the bag were undergarments and by a glance, they should be good. "No, this is good thank you. This was unnecessary though. Maybe I can pay you back, I have some cash in my car," I rambled off.

"Oh no, relax. It's fine," she brushed me off. I was about to say something when the door opened and I'm speechless by the sight of Covan. I kept my eyes on his face when I realized he was shirtless. He was running his eyes, his messy hair and face were proof that he had just woken up.

"Verena," he unexpectedly says, staring at me. "Covan," I repeated. His eyes darted around the kitchen before settling back on me. "I wasn't expecting you to still be here," he admitted.

Same here buddy, I was actually avoiding this.

"You kids need to hurry up so Verena can leave with clean clothes and a full belly, we don't need her parents saying I'm a bad mother," Reena added in on the conversation. "Okay, you go shower, I'll get a towel and bring it to you," Reena announced. I nodded my head even though I could never disagree with her. "Thank you," I smiled before dismissing myself and disappearing into the small bathroom the hotel came with.

It wasn't much but it was certainly better than others. The space was small, fitting a small shelf with toiletries, a sink, bathroom, and toilet. There was one small space to stand in between it all. I grabbed my clothes and put down the toilet cover and rested my clothes there. Using the elastic around my wrist I tied my hair. I grabbed a toothbrush from the bunch they had on the shelves and a one time use toothpaste before brushing my teeth.

I rinsed my mouth with water before stripping and getting into the shower. I was cautious since I wasn't use to this bathroom and had a quick shower but made sure to wash necessary places.

I cursed mentally when I realized the towel was no way to be seen. "Uh, Reena? The towel," I shout, hoping she would hear me from wherever she was. I stood there in the bathroom, calling to someone. While I waited I decided to change into my undergarments at least and thankfully, they were a perfect size.

The door giggled and I opened the lock, expecting Reena. The door open and by the hand holding the towel, it was certainly not Reena. If Covan opened the door more he would have seen me half-naked. I grabbed the towel quickly and wrapped it around my body. "Thank you!" I said in my embarrassed and terrified state. He showed me a thumbs up before shutting the door. I was quick to lock the door and I sighed in relief before going on to put on the clothes given.

It was a huge relief that the clothes fit me alright and I didn't look like a potato sack in them. I walked out to tell one of them that the shower was free and to have pancakes so I can go home when my phone dinged.

Hoping it was a message from my parents since they haven't replied to me, my world stopped when I read who the message was actually from.

Hale:
I know you're at a motel. I'm waiting in the lobby.
