Nacre:
Mother of Pearls

Four Months Later
"What are you doing, Verena?" Covan asked as I helped him up the stairs with his blindfold on. Probably not the smartest idea but I didn't think of it. The moral of the story, he got on the rooftop safely. "Sh, time to take it off," I eagerly say and tiptoed the best I got to pull the bandana off his eyes. In front of us was a fort tent I made with fairy lights and Harry Potter waiting to be played on the computer. "You didn't," he flatly said and walked towards it to see all the pillows and blankets there for our comfort and warmth.
I spent two hours setting this up all by myself. Who knew fairy lights were so difficult to find. "I did," I proudly say. Next, he saw the huge basket filled with snacks and the cooler filled with our favorite drinks. "Wow, this is perfect," he complimented while walking back at me. I did try my best to make sure he'd like it. "What's this for?" Covan asked once his arms were around my waist. I shrugged my shoulders. "Making the best of the two days we have before graduation," I mumbled. He frowned," don't worry, baby. Harvard is just...taking their time. They have to accept you or else I'm not going," he mumbled and tried to make me feel better with a kiss. "Mhm," I mumbled and walked away from him. It was hard to hold it a secret for much longer. The truth is, Harvard, sent me my acceptance letter this morning. I got in, he doesn't know that yet. They took a longer time writing me back than usual and Covan was more worried than me about getting in.
Jessie and Preston got into NYU and I'm pretty sure Ellie will be going to an institution only thirty minutes away from Harvard. The name is too long for me to remember. The past seven months haven't been bad at all. I went to more parties with Covan or Ellie at my sides at all time, Jessie warmed up to us even more and she wasn't too bad after all. My parents are amazing, they're in love and what happened months ago really hit my dad hard and he changed completely.
Our families have also gotten a lot closer which resulted in sports days, fairs, and school trips being shared among the two schools. It really was everything one can hope for. Covan and I also got closer, I literally cannot go a day without him. I hate to admit it that I depend on him so much, maybe it's unhealthy but he doesn't seem to have a problem with that. In fact, I don't think he's much different in that category.
"Come on," I grabbed his hand and pulled him onto the fort. We sat in the middle of the pillows. Here it goes. I pulled the long folder out from under the sheet where I placed it earlier. "What's this?" Covan asked with furrowed brows. Then he noticed the Harvard symbol printed on the front and he eagerly grabbed it from my hand. "Go ahead," I urged him and Covan wasted no time pulling the pages out from the folder. I watch as his eyes excitedly ran over the words. "You got in! I knew you would!" He cheered and threw his arms around me with our lips reconnecting.
