Emily could only remember the most horrific part of what had happened at that concert. At least she thought she could remember what happened at that concert, the rest was a blur. The hard rock band came on to the stage in such a ferocious way. The members were dressed like monsters. The drummer looked like a fanged mutant, the keyboardist a vampire countess in a tattered wedding dress, the guitarist a mummy without linen bandages, and the bassist a Minotaur. But to Emily's greatest shock was the appearance of the lead vocalist. He was the most fearsome looking of all as if he was the overlord of all monsters in the monster world; a Monsterman without a doubt.

His appearance was so terrifying that Emily could barely describe it and his voice on stage puzzled Emily so much that she felt she was drawn into his power until she found herself pulled onto the stage with him, and holding her fears inside she stared blankly into space to avoid making the audience think she was a coward as he grabbed her by the waist from behind. Finally when his wings extended that was when everyone from the audience had suddenly vanished and then the monsters themselves had vanished leaving Emily alone in the arena in a blackout with perhaps a lot of questions that she needed to have answered.

Emily was 19 years old and loved heavy metal and hard rock. She was an outcast in high school and isolated herself at home. She almost never went out unless her family had plans or her friends invited her. She was somewhat satisfied with the way she looked: Shoulder-length ginger-red hair with side bangs, hazel eyes, fair-skinned and she was five foot five. But she was happy with the way things were, or at least she thought because from here; her life was about to change.

It was dark out and Emily was walking home from the concert. Her mind still running the thoughts about why she was spared and the others were not. Did the singer want something with me? She asked herself as she saw her house up ahead. The driveway was empty. Oh good I need my alone time, she thought as she walked inside the house and went up to her bedroom, and grabbed her cell phone and dialed up her friend Tiffany. The response was immediate.

"Hey, Emily how was the Lordi concert?" Tiff asked,

"More than I thought. I was the only one who came back." Emily said with a scared tone in her voice.

"Seriously?" Tiff said, shocked,

"Oh I'm dead serious. The singer pulled me onto the stage and grabbed me; I was right up against him." Emily said, blushing,

"Oh maybe he likes you." Tiff said with some humour in her voice.

Emily shook her head, "Not if he wiped out the entire crowd except me,"

Tiff laughed, "But he spared you because he likes you!"

Not wishing to get teased Emily changed the subject. "I have to hit the sack." Then she hung up and the silence settled in.

Emily changed into a small pink nightgown and shut her window. The only sound she could hear from outside was the wind whistling and the branches rustling. But to her concern it sounded rather eerie and suspicious; she walked up to her window again and looked out. The streetlights were on, but one by one they began to flash and go out. Then the branches swayed a little more than they were earlier and the only light was the moon.

As Emily looked out the window the lights went out in the bedroom pouring the nighttime into the house. Emily began to catch a glimpse of a small shadow reflecting off her window in the light of the moon into the dark bedroom. The shadow slowly expanded taking its shape, but just when Emily could identify what it was, suddenly the shadow burst larger in size revealing it to be a huge hand with claws that looked like it was about to grab her. Emily gasped and quickly closed the blinds before the shadow could reach her. She stepped away from the window.
