Emily had been walking all day ever since she entered the monster world. It was exhausting her too much for her to continue any further. The sky was beginning to grow darker as if a storm was on the way and the wind started to blow faster. Emily began to think this was where something monstrous was coming to scare her again to stop her from reaching her destination once again.

She knew that the dark sky was a bad sign, a sign worse than death itself. Mr. Lordi warned me of the dangers here. Is he sending forces to challenge me? If he is then maybe I should be ready. Emily told herself. The as night fell upon the dark forest Emily reached a small cave up ahead and decided to use it as shelter for the night. She entered the small cave and it was just a little black pit with no tunnels expanding it. I am sure to find it safe in here for now, she thought as she sat down.

Night fell in the forest and the sky was overcast like a black sheet covering the moon and stars. Emily had made a small campfire inside the cave and was warming up. However, she once thought that making a fire was a bad idea in the monster world because it may attract attention but to her it was so black outside she could not see anything.

I wish the sky was clear, Emily thought, as she warmed her hands up by sitting closer to the fire. She was also hungry, and had no idea what there was to eat in the monster world. If there were berries there was a good chance that they were poison, if there was water it probably tasted like blood. Emily tried to put her mind off food and water by lying against a boulder in the corner, she felt so alone at first being the only human in the monster world.

Emily looked up at the cave's ceiling now lit by the fire's light and thought about her home, wondering if her family was looking for her. No I have to do this for my people as well, she told herself, and then after gazing at the fire for a little longer, she fell asleep.

Suddenly, Emily was awakened by a loud gust of wind blowing outside, the campfire went out and she jumped up. Everything went pitch black once again and there was a faint light in the sky, the moon had come out to give some light. Emily shivered, and felt the presence that something horrible was trying to hunt her down. The same creature she saw earlier? It could be that or it could be something else. The darkness poured into the cave and Emily began to wish she had night vision.

Mr. Lordi could be playing tricks on her to see if she was worthy of surviving the disaster on the way. Emily stood up unarmed and unprotected but ready to face whatever was coming to her. The wind began to blow harder and harder as she slowly walked out of the cave.

The tree branches began to sway as the wind became a strong gale outside the cave. Emily began to feel like a storm was coming either a hurricane or tornado possibly. Emily looked around and heard more noise this time other than the wind, thunder was heard now followed by blood-curdling screams and then footsteps. Monsters? Mr. Lordi? Anyone? She wondered, and then she broke a large branch off a tree and rubbed it against the bark to light it as a torch. The wind grew stronger but not strong enough to blow out her torch.

Emily felt an icy shiver run down her spine once again as she looked all around her for any signs of danger. The forest seemed empty but the strong winds gave away the peace of the night and then the screams were heard again once more. Emily shook in fear and nearly jumped at every noise she heard that was not the wind. The sounds were starting to get to her even more than before. Then to her surprise the wind stopped completely, Emily now suspicious held her torch out in front of her only to come across the face of an undead creature screaming in her face.

Emily screamed and shoved her torch in the zombie's face and ran from it once she thought she had burned the monster to the ground. But to her she was wrong. These were zombies: The undead, they could not be killed again. The wind howled and the sound of moaning and groaning was coming in all directions. Emily ran until she shone her torch in an open space to find herself surrounded by the undead all around her.

She held out the torch to protect herself hoping that zombies hated fire. One of the zombies lunged at her and Emily jumped backwards waving the torch at it and then she slid down to the ground to avoid the one coming from behind trying to grab her. As soon as she was on the ground she shoved the torch at one of the zombies from behind and knocked the one up front with a sweeping kick. Mr. Lordi must be trying to test my fears. Emily thought as more of the undead closed in on her. She got back on her feet again and waved the torch at more of the zombies, and managed to sever a few of them in half with it. But the undead were still alive even if they were in pieces. One zombie that was cut in half grabbed her leg knocking her down again.

The torch fell to the ground as Emily was vulnerable again. She reached for it as another zombie moved in to grab her. No I am not letting these things eat my brains! She told herself and then she used her free leg to kick the half zombie the face. The creature became blinded and Emily crawled to grab the torch but then she was pinned to the ground by at least seven zombies that were holding her steady. Emily struggled as hard as she could to get their filthy hands off of her but it was no use. One of the creatures picked up the torch and was approaching with it towards her. Emily could not move her arms or her legs, she felt overpowered but that did not make her defeated. The dead must have a weakness. She thought and as the one zombie with the torch reached her she began to feel a strength growing inside her.

"You shouldn't kill me. What will the overlord of this world say if her found out that I turned into one of you on this very night? You don't want that do you?" She said. All of the undead growled in anger as if they had made it forbidden for her to speak but Emily did not care.

"Bring it on, I used to be terrified of zombies but that doesn't mean you can do this to me!" She warned them, and then the one zombie gave a loud roar and began to swing the torch towards her head.

Summoning all her strength Emily headbutted several of the zombies above her until she got her arms free. Then she whacked the rest of them with her arms until her legs were free then she sprang up again kicking the torch out of the zombie's hand.

"You're gonna have to do better than that!" She snarled and grabbed the torch and burned the face of the one zombie that tried to whack her. The other undead began to be hesitant to approach her and then she swung the torch again realizing her fears were starting to subside a little and then she felt stronger and stronger by the minute.

Another zombie lunged at her and Emily took out its legs with the torch and kicked its upper torso like a soccer ball. But there were still more and more of the undead coming towards and then she got an idea.

Emily ran into the narrower parts of the forest to try and make it harder for the zombies to attack her. The zombies chased after her but were bumping into trees resulting in them either losing their arms, legs or even their heads. Emily never felt herself running with such skills manoeuvring around the trees so quickly. Just then she began to see another opening up ahead leading to an open wide path like where she began. The zombies were gaining on her, and Emily had no idea of slowing them down now until she thought again of something; she took the torch and tossed it at the army of zombies in the trees and screams of agony were heard as the zombies were falling apart from the flames. It would not dispose of them completely but at least it would slow them down.

Emily squeezed her way through the last set of trees and stepped onto the pathway and began going in the direction she thought was the right one. The sky grew lighter and Emily got the feeling that morning arrived. There was no sunlight showing behind the light gray clouds, but at least the undead nightmare looked like it was over now. Maybe the undead hate daylight, Emily thought as she continued on the path.

As Emily kept walking she came across another choice of directions to choose from. She examined the signs carefully. This time they had even more weirder names like "Deathtrap" "Pit of Hell" "Thunder valley" and "Heart of the Monsterman" Emily looked confused as she read the names one more time and decided to go down the path "Heart of the Monsterman". As she walked down the path she was once again still alert to her surroundings in the dark forest and she did not know how much further she had to go until Mr. Lordi's lair or whatever it was, was found. She looked back to notice the smoke from the burning torch had died down and she knew she was well ahead and safe from the zombies for the moment. But Emily knew that this was not going to be an easy trip, there could be something else that might try to stop her from reaching her destination and whatever that may be would be even harder for her to bypass. She was safe. For now.
