Emily woke up from what she felt was another bad dream or as if she had been in hyper sleep for over fifty years. But not much time had passed. She sat up and realized she was back in the study hall where everything had been repaired as if everything was the way it was before the monsters attacked.

Only this time Emily knew for sure that this was real, she was not delusional after all nor was she having nightmares. Mr. Lordi was really in love with her and his monsters were out to get her. She stood up and hurried out of the room to catch the bus and go home. I can't tell anyone, if I do they'll be in danger, she thought.

As soon as Emily was inside her house, she locked the door behind her and ran straight upstairs to her room. After throwing her books onto her bed she went to the mirror. She touched her cheek and remember the kiss Mr. Lordi had left there, it felt like a scar that was longer lasting than the one on her neck, and her heart was still racing from the fiery encounter with him that seemed like it happened a long time ago when it reality it happened today. He really does love me, I must find out more. Is there really a war between human and monster? What is it that I can do to stop it, and how does this relate to me being loved by a Monsterman? Emily asked herself, holding her heart in her hands. Then she turned on her computer once again looking for answers.

The hours went by fast as Emily continued to search deeper into the questions she had, she began to find an interesting story on a page about myths and legends about the relationship between humans and monsters: Long ago there was a war between monsters and humanity. The monsters had come from another world, or perhaps another dimension as some humans had believed. Many lives were lost, many innocents were taken hostage and tortured to death. But when all hope seemed to have been gone, the time came when the most fearsome overlord of all monsters who was said to lead his people into this war, searched and found his one true love, a female human. The female chosen must be one with a pure heart, with beauty, compassion and outcast. The monster overlord confronted the female human and confessed love to her. The female, overwhelmed and afraid at first does not believe this is her destiny may be reluctant. But when the time comes should the female be in peril the monster overlord will save her life and leave her alone, thus giving the female a choice. If she chooses to go to bond with this monster overlord, their love will be true and settle peace between man and monster before the war even starts. Should the female refuse to bond with the monster overlord then the war will wage once again putting many lives in danger and perhaps destroy the entire world...

Emily sat back in her chair once she had finished reading the story. War: one thing Emily did not want to happen again on Earth was another war. She had learned enough about some of the most devastating wars that made history. She didn't want billions of lives taken by monsters. Me? Bond with Mr. Lordi? She asked herself, as she put her hand on her heart. No one's ever felt this way about me before, but I never thought it would come from someone like him, but I don't want to bond with him just to save the Earth from destruction. I want to bond with him for love as well, Emily thought. She shut her laptop off and gazed out the window. He may be haunting and ambushing me, but his words, no one has the guts to say that to me. Maybe he wants to bond with me more than just to save the planet. But who's starting the war, are they doing it or are we? She asked, and then got an idea. She took a lined piece of paper out of her binder and started writing.

Dear Mr. Lordi

I'm not sure if you will get this because you are in another dimension. I know all about why you want me and what will happen if I decline. But let me ask you this: I thought you monsters were the evil ones here. If you're trying to bond with me to avoid the war then perhaps your species is not what caused this to start happening. So what's starting this war?

That's what I need to know. I also wanted to say, the way you came at me from that concert, that nearly made my heart race faster than it's ever beat ever since I was born. Last night, you scared the hell outta me, also today when I ran away from you like that in the fiery abyss and you pulled me back into your arms all I could do was gaze into your red eyes and wonder "What am I thinking?" But still when you pulled me back today, that was so bold of you, I think my heart's starting to feel something for you, and maybe just maybe I will choose to bond with you but there will be more to it than just doing it for the sake of this planet.

Sincerely Emily.

Late that night after finishing her homework, and having a bite to eat, Emily knew that she would be home alone for the rest of the week. She went upstairs to change into her nightgown and sealed her letter to Mr Lordi in an envelope. But just as she turned off the light and crawled into bed, something white flickered once again and it was the exact same ghost woman who had appeared earlier. Emily gasped waiting for the loud screeching to happen as she sat up in bed.

"Go ahead, scare me. What are you waiting for?" She asked.

The woman settled down on Emily's bed.

"My name is Awa, I see you have read into our story. The overlord was wondering when his one true love would find out more." She said.

Emily hesitated and nodded. "You're not here to haunt me again are you?"

Awa shook her head. "That is no longer an option. Now that you know our story we cannot do that anymore. The war between man and monster may already begin to start before you make your choice."

Emily looked worried. "Why? Have I done something wrong?"

"No you have not, your race is what has caused this war. Thousands of years ago when we monsters came to your world for the first time we were looking for the Icon of Dominance in order to rebuild some or our homeland after the war between the goblins and demons. The Icon was said to hold great power. But when we came into the human world looking for us, the humans attacked us and stole the Icon before we got it. Your race started this war, and from then on to find a way to settle peace a monster overlord must learn to love a human and have her love in return in order to settle peace between your kind and our kind. It is the only way."

Emily went silent after hearing the legend from Awa's perspective, and then she looked down at the letter in her hands.

"I was going to give this to him. I don't know if he will get it, but I have a feeling my heart may slowly be developing something for him." She said, and then Awa stood up.

"He will see it, and as for what is in your heart tell that to him, not me. Your choice affects us all. Think about it."

Then she disappeared. The darkness settled into the room again and Emily looked at the letter one last time and wrote Mr. Lordi on the envelope then she lay on her back and fell asleep instantly.

A dark vortex swirled inside the pitch black room and Mr. Lordi himself emerged from it into the dark empty bedroom. He walked towards the bed to find Emily sound asleep in her bed with an envelope.

What's this? He thought as he bent down and took the envelope from Emily's hands and opened it. As he read the letter carefully he felt warmth grow from inside his monstrous heart which was normally supposed to be cold and heartless. He managed to smile only this time not a sinister smile but this time just a smile. Not one has done this for me not even my one true love. Then he set the letter down and gently lifted the sleeping Emily into his arms and sat down on her bed cradling her for a while. Emily was sound asleep, completely unaware of his presence but at the same time she did feel like someone was turning her over in her sleep.

Then an hour later when Mr. Lordi was satisfied he gently placed Emily back in her bed and tucked the blanket over her.

"Thank you Emily." He said softly, and then he kissed her forehead. Then he stood up taking the letter and vanished into the dark vortex leaving her to rest.
