Emily woke the next morning in bright sunlight the sky clear only to find herself suspicious as if someone had visited her last night. She was certain she had not heard the sound of anyone come in for she was sound asleep the whole time. She sat up in bed and realized her hands were empty. The letter to Mr. Lordi was missing.

Where is it? Maybe Awa told Mr. Lordi to visit me last night, and he came and took it. She thought as she climbed out of bed and walked towards the mirror. The girl looking back at her was exactly the same, unharmed, beautiful and outcast. She touched her forehead slightly feeling something warm that made her heart give a hard thud. He came to see me last night and I never even knew. She thought.

Today was her day off, Emily felt like she deserved it more than anything, for she wanted to go deeper into the story of the monsters. As she dressed and ate breakfast she started to get the feeling like someone had been touching her all over while she was asleep, she carefully examined her silky white skin to look for signs of cuts and scratches that could be made from long sharp fingernails but nothing was found. Weird. How could Mr. Lordi hold me in his arms that long without his nails ripping my skin? She thought. There was no question he was a clever Monsterman who knew what he was doing.

Emily spent the morning doing her homework and her research. She found no other stories regarding the monster war or any monster's reason for falling in love with a human female.

Every moment she found herself looking around all corners every time a small sound was heard like the wind rustling or the footsteps of her two cats Luke and Mianna scampering around the house. She was afraid that one of those sounds could easily turn into another haunting session with monsters even though Awa said last night that those things not happening again were a possibility. Late in the evening she plopped herself in front of the TV only to find herself on the news channel, the program which had just started immediately startled her:

"Good evening everyone I'm John Carr reporting to you now on a Special Report. There has been word going out that madness is starting to breakout. Groups of men carrying torches are now being spotted in the neighborhood and people are starting to run in fear of them. These men have been reported from our live witnesses to be searching for someone to stop a so-called monster invasion or start one. It is advised that you should stay indoors until these abductors are caught and whatever they are after is kept safe for now. It has not been confirmed if there are really any stories about monsters invading but it is suggested that if any horrific events do happen we must all be ready to face it. We'll be back after these messages, coming up next: the story of a car accident in the Eastern part of the town."

Emily shut the TV off as soon as the commercial break started and then she stood up. It's happening, no matter what I do something bad is going to happen. She thought as she went upstairs. There could be people aware of these legends and they want to either make them come true or prevent them but why would people like this be wanting this? Emily asked herself. Then she ate her dinner in silence where she avoided turning on the radio not wishing to hear anything more about monster invasion predictions. She was too paralyzed inside to think about anything else but the decision she had to make.

Late that night, Emily changed into her white nightgown. The dress was knee-length and the sleeves were short and puffy round. Nothing was going to disturb her this time, for the moment as she thought it would be. Then as the darkness poured into her room once again she fell asleep in her bed instantly. The sound of thunder was heard outside crashing hard and the lightning struck. Emily was unaware of the sound. She felt like she was dreaming.

She woke up later to the sound of another loud rumble of thunder and another strange sound she didn't recognize. It was the sound of a loud bang. She climbed out of bed and went downstairs to investigate.
