Emily ran to Mr. Lordi's side where he was on his knees on the ground and vulnerable. Though she was told to stay put and safe until the time was right, she had no choice but to ignore the order.
Mr. Lordi panted, struggling to get up as Emily knelt to his side and then he looked at her.
"What are you doing? It is too dangerous here." He warned her.
Emily looked at him with tears in her eyes. "I don't want you to die!" She wept, and Mr. Lordi stroked her cheek gently.
"I will not die. The wounds are not critical I will recover; now I need you to do something for me,"
"Anything, just name it."
Mr. Lordi took out his axe and set it in front of her. "I have seen you fight your way to me, take my weapon and use it against the demons. You are strong, I know you are."
Emily was astonished. "I can't use this, it won't work the way it does with you,"
Mr. Lordi looked at Emily with love, "I know it does not but I know you can do this, I am giving you a chance to help. Now go out there and kick some ass for me while I recover, do that for me," He said, putting both his hands on her cheeks.
Emily blushed, "Okay I will, and I won't die I promise,"
"Do not die, I love you," Mr. Lordi whispered and then he placed his lips onto hers, it was a quick peck of a kiss.
When they parted, she took hold of the axe. Mr. Lordi looked at her one last time as she stood up with the axe in both hands.
"Now go do some chopping." He said sounding like he was giving an order but in a friendly way. Emily winked, understanding what he meant and then she ran down the street with the axe towards the fight.
Emily ran down the street fast with strong determination that she would not fail. If she could whack zombies with a torch then this would be a piece of cake. She gripped Mr. Lordi's axe tight and listened for the sounds of screams, fights or fleeing civilians. A few demons were spotted retreating from the fight nearby that caught her attention. Time to get revenge. Emily told herself and then she ran towards the opposite direction that the few demons were fleeing. Soon she caught the glimpse of a large army of demons fighting the gargoyle monsters she had summoned. They were attacking head on but only a few gargoyles were remaining. Emily clutched Mr. Lordi's axe even tighter hoping it would still be of use to her even though it was not hers to wield. She looked at the fight one last time observing the action and then she felt her heart pound fast, and then she charged forward.
As Emily got closer to the fighting demons she readied the axe and started running for the closest demon that was looking around for something else to kill. Once close enough to the creature, Emily leapt into the air above the creature and brought the axe down on its head. Blood oozed and spurted out as the creature fell to the ground motionless. That felt good. Emily thought, as she felt like she was on an adrenaline rush and then she charged into the fight even more.
She swung the axe at one demon's legs taking them out and then severed in half when it was on the ground causing an explosion of blood to gush out instantly splattering against the walls. Wow this axe has more use to it than I thought it would, Emily said to herself as she sprang up again. One of the gargoyles smashed one of the demons to the ground and turned to look at her.
"Give me a boost," Emily ordered as she began to take notice of a few demons inside one of the glass buildings. The gargoyle lifted her up towards the window and she jumped breaking the glass with the axe.
