"Wow! Your house is massive!" Bea exclaimed, as I held the front door open for her and Claire. They had dropped their horse back at the local stables, where she was kept, and came straight here. I showed them into the red living room, where mom and dad were sitting on the sofa. Platefuls of biscuits and cakes were laid out on the coffee table, and a pot of tea stood next to a saucer and cup. "Sit down, Claire. Nessie, do you want to grab a plate and show Bea your room?" Mom smiled.
I picked up a plate of biscuits, which contained custard creams, bourbons, party rings and jammy dodgers, and walked up the two flights of stairs. Bea kicked off her riding boots and followed me. She just stared at the surroundings in awe. I giggled at her open mouth and fixed eyes.
"What?" She grinned, breaking from the trance.
"Nothing," I smiled, opening my bedroom door. Bea gasped and ran over to my dressing table first, running her hand over the perfume bottles. She then walked to the fluffy rug and knelt down, stroking it. She leapt up and ran up the stairs to my balcony above the bed, where my desk was, and pushed herself down the small slide leading off the other end. I smiled and sat down in one of the plush velvet armchairs next to the bookcase, and watched her, laughing. After circling my room once more, she sat down in the armchair opposite me. "So, what shall we do?" I asked, grabbing a bourbon.
"I don't mind-" she was cut off by a Skype notification sound coming from my laptop on my bed. I ran over to it. Auntie Alice wanted to Skype.
"Who's that?" Bea whispered, leaning over my shoulder. I sat on my bed and she mimicked.
"Hello Nessie!" Alice trilled.
"Hi Alice. This is Bea, my friend," I told her quickly, hinting for no vampire talk.
"Oh, hey Bea. I'm one of Nessie's aunts, Alice."
"And I'm her other Aunt!" Aunt Rose beamed, sitting down next to Alice at the dining table. We chatted for about ten minutes. Bea joined in the conversation as well, talking to Rose about makeup and hair.
"Well, I think the rest are off hunting now. I should probably join-" Alice gabbled, not thinking about her words.
"Your family hunts! Wow that's so cool!" Bea giggled. Alice, Rose and I stared at each other in horror.
"Um, I guess. Anyway, bye!" Rose said, quickly signing out. I shut the laptop.
"I hope you don't mind, but I really need the toilet," Bea mumbled, her mouth full of jammy dodgers. I showed her my en suite and sat back down on the bed. We had nearly blown our cover. Nearly.

We entered the playroom. Firstly, I wanted to show her my cottage. I had been playing in it nearly every day since we moved in. But playing by yourself wasn't as fun as playing with a friend. We played an imaginary game that we were two sisters, living by ourselves with our baby sister (the elegant doll, who I had called Olivia quite a while ago). We played this game for an hour, until Claire called up the stairs to Bea. Bea gave me a hug, and walked to her car, holding hands with her mom. A thought suddenly struck me. When would I see her again?
"Don't worry love, your mother got Claire's number. They will probably be arranging a play date soon," Dad smiled. I forgot he could read my thoughts. I sighed, relieved, and went down to the basement to play on the XBOX.
