"Father, I think that's enough for the day," Patrick said and It was a really long day for all of them, he was tired "I'm the one who decided if we are done or not Patrick, get yourself together and work." His father said in a rough tone, he was a hard man sometimes so is his personality with his children too.
He can't be gentle or good with them he don't know how to do it, even though he was bad with them, Aurora and the boys never said no to him.
Not just because they are afraid of him or his anger but because they loved him too and want him to be happy.

The weather was windy and dry cold, the leaves of the tree were everywhere when they got into the woods It was not easy for them to get inside today. "It's okay Patrick, a few more, and we will done" Aurora whispered to her brother while she was preparing the next tree to be cut.

He nodded at her and then get back to his work, "Hold the log for your brother Aurora." Their father said, he walked back to his horse and the trolley.

After a long rainy day for Aurora and Patrick, they started walking towards their house to drop their father first then head back to the town to sell their goods, on their way home Aurora was mumbling quietly a song she loves but something between the trees made her stop, she could see a white fare moving.
She felt like words were stopped in her throat, her feet went numb but she couldn't scream or do anything she was just frozen in her place.
"Move Aurora, " Her brother said to her when he saw his sister watching the trees, Aurora and the creature's eyes met for a moment, his golden to red eyes were locked with hers even though he was far away she could see his face.

Aurora couldn't believe her eyes, It was an actual real wolf standing there, "A-a wolf-f" She said in a low voice, she wanted to scream but couldn't do it. "What wolf Aurora, there is nothing here." Patrick said, "I-i swear Patrick he was just there, " She said with her voice shaking,
"Let's go, we don't have time, " Their father called for them again, "I'm here Aurora, don't be afraid of anything," Patrick said, holding his little sister's hand.

After what happened they finally arrived in town after they got their father home, now they have to sell what they got for the day.

"It's nice to have some time alone, you know," Patrick said to Aurora with a face she can't explain. "I know he's hard on us Patrick, but we will always be a family." She said to him and tapped on his shoulder, "I know, I wish I was like Cillian he is always traveling and away from all of this."
"I'm sure he is saying the same words as you, being away from home is not an easy thing Patrick." Aurora said, "Now get down, let's sell our goods and go home."
"Yeah, we deserve it." He smiled.
"I wonder what our mother cooked for today's dinner, I hope it's chicken."
"You only think about food don't you" Aurora laughed, "And the ladies." He winked when a pretty girl walked past them. "Shut up Patrick".

"Henry! You can't do that to our little daughter." Aurora's mother almost shouted at Henry Aurora's father but she lowered her voice so Cillian and Aidan won't hear what they are fighting about, "And why is that? I'm not doing anything wrong, Emma. You married me when you were only fourteen, she's sixteen now almost seventeen!" He said with a cold answer like it was something normal.

Emma was mad at him for thinking like that and she had every right to be, Aurora is her only daughter and she has been always such a good-hearted kid.
She don't want her life to be wasted with a man she doesn't love, because she knows how it goes.

Emma and Henry didn't have a love marriage, It was something traditional just to start a family, her parents gave her away to get rid of her responsibilities.
Emma wouldn't let that happen again with Aurora, "She can't go through what I had been in! " She said madly, "What do you mean women?" He paused "I gave you four children and a good house for you to sleep in, what do you want more?" He burst into anger, at the moment Emma didn't care about what he was saying she was only worried about her little daughter Aurora.

Aurora and Patrick sell almost all the firewood they had for today, they bring what was left with them, some to store and some to use for heat in this cloudy rainy weather.
Aurora had always loved the rain since she was a child, everyone told her that her eyes were very blue because she loves the water and she believed that ever since.
And her beautiful golden hair was given from the legend of her name meaning "Aurora" The Roman goddess of the dawn. She was special with a very kind heart that everyone loved.

The rain stopped for a bit, she took off the scarf that was on her head and took a breath "I love the smell of the soil after the rain" She closed her eyes and smiled looking up to the sky.
"Of course you do." Patrick said laughing at her, " Let's go Aurora, I'm hungry." She rolled her eyes at him and went back near him.
When she noticed some branches of trees moving again, "Did you see that?" She asked her brother, "See what?" Patrick quickly put his hand on his sword in case someone is there.

He should be awake all the time because it's the woods where you don't know what will show at any time. "I saw the branches moving, I swear, " She said hiding behind her brother she was afraid "What if it's the big wolf again?" She thought to herself, A laugh escapes from Patrick when he saw the little rabbit behind it "Don't be scared Aurora, It's just a little rabbit."

"Oh thank God " a breath of relief left her lungs when she felt the danger was gone, as the little girl she was Aurora grew up always with protection for her brothers from they were always there for her and never left her alone.

"What's going on?" Patrick asked when they entered their house, two loud voices were coming from their parent's room. "Cillian?" Aurora asked, looking at her older brother with a weird look, his face was red and not comfortable as she can see.
Aidan had the same look too, they both looked unhappy like they knew what was going on but they are not telling them.

"I'm not giving her away like a piece of goods for you to sell." Everything heard their mother's loud talking "She is my only daughter Henry!" Now her voice seemed like she was begging him for something. "They are talking about Aurora?" Patrick asked with a worried face.
Cillian gave Patrick a hard look, he wanted him to stop talking to not let his sister get worried. "Aurora let's go outside to put the firewoods in the store." Aidan tried to hide the high tension that was going in the house.

"N-no" She said while taking off her shoes, Cillian couldn't let his little sister hear what they were arguing about "Put your shoes on, I need to talk to you outside Aurora," Cillian said with a serious voice, "Now".

"But It's raining outside, and our parents are mad, I want to know what is going on." She said with a sad tone and he knew she was about to cry.

He was in a bad situation "Listen to me little sister and let's go outside, please " He said, while she was wearing her shoes again they heard their parents as they were coming downstairs, "Stop Cillian you are not going anywhere" She looked at her daughter and said, "Let's go Aurora we can't stay here." Emma said with tears falling from her red eyes and with a puffy face.

"Where are we going, mother?" Aurora asked with a worried look, their father get downstairs after her and gave his wife a deadly look. "When I say something in this house, it means it will happen and no one can argue with me on it." He said loudly, "Father calm yourself down, please." Patrick said, trying to control the situation.

But the house was in a huge mess, some of them had no idea of what was going on and the other half was angry and furious "Shut up Patrick don't you tell me what to do." Henry was so angry he gets it out on his middle son, and without thinking twice the next thing Patrick saw was his father's hand-printed on his cheeks.
It made everyone went silent "You now hit our children? what's next for us Henry!" Emma shouted at him while putting her little daughter behind her trying to hide her from her father, she wished she could make her disappear.

"I'm okay mother," Patrick said mockingly and smiled at his sister because her face was turning red and she was about to cry, she was afraid of what was going on, Emma gave Patrick half a smile trying to make sure he was fine.

"Now leave the girl, let's talk about it tomorrow." Their father said, "No, we will talk right now. And if you are determined with your decision, I'll take my daughter and leave." Her words were cold and harsh, she knows he wouldn't like this situation but she had to do something to save her daughter's life.
