Three hours passed and Adam, Jared, Jasper and Gabriel pulled up to a weather faded brick building smack dab in the middle middle of the city Ottumwa, Iowa. Jasper pulled up to a parking garage and he put in a key code only the agents know so no outsiders of the enemy can get in. The door opened and Adam expected a rundown everyday parking garage, not a hi-tech one with armored cars and people running around trying to get to the right place.

Adam stared at his lap as Jasper parked the car. His stomach twisted into a knot as he felt nervous. To Adam, it felt like being at the agency is like being a new student in school. He hated that feeling.
"Adam? You alright?" He heard Jasper ask
Adam blinked and he looked at him. Adam notice that everyone else was out of the car.
"Uh. I'm fine," he said as he got out.
He was lying. Adam really felt like running away and hiding. Adam then followed the others to a white hi-tech elevator and it scanned people as they walked in. Adam went in and it started flashing red lights and an automated voice was saying, "unauthorized personal onboard. Starting-"

The voice was cut off when Jasper punched in another key code as the lights stopped flashing. The elevator started going up to the fifth floor and everyone looked behind them at Adam who sat on the floor hugging his knees to his chest and he rested his forehead against his knees. Jared noticed that his body was shaking slightly and he heard muffled sobs coming from his brother. He crouched down and he gently placed his hand on Adam's shoulder.
"Adam?" Jared asked
"What?" Adam questioned in a whiny voice.
"What's wrong?"

Adam lifted his head and he started at his brother through his tears.
"'What's wrong'?" Adam said mockingly then he glared at Jared as he added, "a bunch of things are wrong Jared!"
Then Adam started ranting about everything wrong and bad about his life and how he's only becoming an agent because his dad was one. He stopped ranting when Adam saw the elevator door opened showing a lobby with people in it. Adam pulled himself together and he slowly stood up with his brothers face. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Jasper and Gabriel stare at him blankly. Adam made the mistake of cussing at Jasper who slapped him hard in the face.
"Rule number one about becoming an agent" Jasper said with the hint of anger in his voice, "never, ever talk back to those who are higher ranked than you. Understand?"
"Y-yes sir," replied Adam softly as more tears rolled down his face.

Then Adam stuck close to Jared as the four of them walked into the lobby. It wasn't like a normal lobby like you see in hotels. In the agency, there were white walls and automatic doors that opened. It was all too much for Adam to process in one day and he felt pressured. After seeing his father get murdered and leaving his mother and sister for six weeks to train to become an agent, Adam was regretting his decision to join.

Thankfully for Adam's sake, before Jasper could hurt his brother, Jared stopped him and he said he'd give Adam the tour later after Adam gets settled down. He saw Jasper think about it then without a word, he and Gabriel walked away leaving Jared and his brother. He went up to Adam.
"I'm sorry about Jasper," Jared apologized as they walked down an empty hallway, "He was dad's student back in the day and he runs the place now that dad is gone."
"Is Jasper always that mean?" Adam asked.
Jared thought about it, usually Jasper is nice.
"No. He's not," replied Jared, suddenly feeling protective of his brother.

"Oh. Well thanks for standing up for me back there," said Adam quietly.
"No problem. I'd do anything for you."
Adam looked at Jared with a weak smile on his face.
"I'm hungry," Adam said, seeming to ignore the previous comment made by Jared.
Jared chuckled as he heard their stomachs growl loudly. "I guess it's noon," Jared thought to himself.
Then the two went down another hallway towards the cafeteria.
