The Beginning (A Flames Pond Fanfic)

Chapter 7

The cafeteria was packed with agents from teens up to adults and everyone stopped what they were doing to stare at Adam and Jared as they walked in.
"Why are they staring at us?" Adam whispered to Jared in a scared voice.
Out of the corner of Adam's eye he saw Jared open is mouth to speak but someone said,
"Hey it's Adam! He's finally here!"

Then everyone started clapping and cheering which made Adam more scared than ever. He never liked being the center of attention and he hid behind his brother.
"Guys that's enough," Jared said loudly. Everyone listened. He continued, "Don't go to hard on my brother. A...a lot has happened to us. Our dad or your trainer and friend, got murdered this morning by one of the Fuzzy Guy's henchmen, Jonathan Oswald who Adam stood up to yesterday and his boss escaped prison two days ago."
All of the agents whispered amongst themselves and Adam was confused to why everyone was excited that he's here.

He got out from behind his brother and everyone went back to what they were doing.
"I-I'm not hungry anymore," Adam told him.
"The sudden applause make you lose your appetite?" Jared asked
Adam blushed and he shook his head 'yes.' Jared placed his arm on his brothers shoulder.
"It's alright. Let's go to the file room and I'll tell you about our enemy then we'll start training," Jared said.

Adam didn't respond and he followed his brother out and down another hallway. But this one had gray walls instead of white walls and it was empty except for Jared and Adam. Up ahead there was a single black door with a deadlock on it. Adam saw Jared unlock the door and they went in. The room had one dim light in the middle of the room with a single table and two chairs and a bunch of file cabinets around the entire perimeter of the room. Adam went to a chair and Jared opened a drawer on the rightmost file and he grabbed one then he came back.
"Here," Jared said as he sat beside Adam.

He looked at the file with a dusty black cover. Adam carefully opened it and he saw pictures of people that were agents that were either killed or put in prison. Adam flipped through more pages and pictures and he stared at Jared with his eyes wide.
"These are all agents!" Adam exclaimed
"I know," Jared said, "We've never actually seen the fuzzy guy in person but he somehow takes control of our agents and makes them rebel against us."

Adam stared at his brother with a scared expression on his face? "He takes over agents?!" Adam thought to himself. Then a sickening feeling settled in his gut.
"S-so we're trying to defeat someone we've never met before and he's an alien?" He asked nervously
Jared nodded his head grimly and he said,
"Yes. Yes he is."
