The Beginning (A Flames Pond Fanfic)

Chapter 22

"So what should I do?" Adam asked his dad after he finished telling him about the meeting for the past four hours.
His dad was silent for a minute before he spoke.
"Well, I'd suggest that you take the mission. You need this and I believe that Jared can be himself again if you talk to the Fuzzy Guy," his dad said.
Adam glanced at Kelsey who was with them. She reached over and held Adam's hand.
"I know you can do it. I saw what you did at the obstacle course and you have the ability to use fire!" Kelsey said, "We'll help you in anyway we can."
"Thanks," replied Adam as he stood up, "I think the others are here so I'm gonna go talk to them."
He saw Kelsey and his dad stand up and the three of them went upstairs.

Adam reached the living room first and he saw Logan and Naomi making out while Joshua hung out with AnnMarie. Adam felt his skin crawl as he found himself staring at Logan and Naomi. He heard Kelsey clear her throat and everyone looked at her. She looked annoyed.
"Naomi and Logan you two need to focus on..." She trailed off as she realized that AnnMarie was in the room. Adam got her to leave and she continued, "anyways. You two need to focus on the mission. So no more dating stuff until the mission is compleat. Am I clear?"

Kelsey saw them nod their heads in understanding and she looked at everyone.
"I have a feeling that tomorrow the Fuzzy Guy will show up. If he does, Adam will talk to him to try and get Jared back,"
"Back?!" Naomi exclaimed while interrupting Kelsey, "we don't want Jared back! He's...."
She trailed off when Adam punched her in the arm.
"What do you have against my brother?! Huh? Did he harm you in any way? Did-"
"Adam that's enough," Kelsey said sternly. He apologized and she continued, "look. When Adam talks to the Fuzzy Guy no one and I repeated no one will hurt Jared's body in any way. Now I know everyone must be tired so we'll get some dinner and we'll get some rest."

Adam stared at Kelsey. He wanted to say "but it's only seven o'clock" but he kept his mouth shut. He got up with everyone else and they went into the kitchen where Adam's mom had made spaghetti. Adam got a small plate since he wasn't that hungry and he joined the others at the table. He was going sit by Joshua when his sister said,
"Adam sit by me please!"
Adam walked around the table and he sat beside his sister. AnnMarie smiled at him and she kissed his cheek. Adam felt his face get hot and he hugged his sister. Then his dad said the blessing and everyone ate. While Adam was eating, he was thinking about his brother and the vision he saw yesterday. It was of them fighting. He also saw the image of Jared screaming as the Fuzzy Guy was taking over his brother. Adam then heard loud and clear when the Fuzzy Guy called Adam a liar about doing anything for his twin brother. He also remembered the fuzzy feeling that he felt when he was angry. Could the Fuzzy Guy be taking over him to? "Why would he want me?" Adam thought, "I'm nothing to him."
"Oh but you are something to me," Adam heard the Fuzzy Guy say in his head.

At that, Adam yelled, bringing himself out of his thoughts and he had a hard time breathing. He looked at everyone who stared at Adam with a look of horror on their faces.
"Adam why is your skin yellow?" He heard his sister ask
Adam slowly lifted his shaky hands in front of his face and he saw that his hands and arms were yellow. Then he removed his shirt and he saw his chest slowly turn yellow. He looked up and he saw Jared standing beside him with a creepy smile on his face and Adam kept shaking his head in disbelief. The Fuzzy Guy was taking over Adam's body.
