The Beginning (A Flames Pond Fanfic)

Chapter 23

Randal stared at Adam and Jared. Adam was still shaking his head 'no' and Jared was going for AnnMarie.
"No!" He yelled as he jumped to his feet and he grabbed his daughter.
"AnnMarie go with mom to the basement okay? Don't come up no matter what you hear," he said while giving AnnMarie to his wife.
He quickly kissed her then he focus returned to Adam.
"Adam you can do it," everyone said.

Adam stopped shaking his head and he looked at his friends.
"Jared you need to stop!" He said as he stood up.
"Jared is gone, Agent Pond," Adam heard the Fuzzy Guy say.
Adam felt his heart leap into his throat and he walked back as Jared went towards him until he was up against a wall. He felt Jared grab his throat and he started choking Adam just as Kelsey and the others fought the Fuzzy Guy's henchmen that burst in through the front door. Adam looked at his brother, but it wasn't his brother anymore. Jared's face had an angry frown and his eyes were completely red.
"J-Jared," Adam struggled to say, "I know-"
"SHUT UP!" He yelled as he tightened his grip on Adam's throat.

A gurgling noise came from Adam and he balled his hand into a fist. He made his hand catch on fire and he punched Jared in the face. Doing that only made the Fuzzy Guy angrier and he violently threw Adam on the ground. Soon they were fighting each other. While they were fighting, the Fuzzy Guy was telling Adam that he's worthless and he shouldn't be an agent.
"You're lying!" Adam shouted as he kicked Jared in the chest.
"No I'm not, Adam" Jared replied, "let's see if you can save yourself again."

At that moment, Jared had Adam in a headlock. Adam glanced to his left and he saw everyone else beaten up and the Fuzzy Guy's henchmen were gone and Jared stood beside Adam.
"Save yourself in under ten seconds or you die!" The Fuzzy Guy spat
Adam stood there not doing anything. He believed the lies that the Fuzzy Guy had said. He is worthless and he can't be an agent.
"Go on a kill me," said Adam through gritted teeth as he removed the cross necklace from him.
Adam knew the cross necklace is what's keeping him from not dying and it was glowing faintly.
"I'd be happy to end your miserable life," The Fuzzy Guy said.
Then he snapped Adam's neck and the necklace stopped glowing.

Kelsey saw the Fuzzy Guy dropped Adam's dead body and he started beating Adam.
"Stop it!" She yelled at the Fuzzy Guy.
To her surprise, he listened and he ran out. A few seconds passed and everyone crowded around Adam. Kelsey noticed that Adam's neck was bent in an odd angle and his chest was caved in and she asked the question that was on everyone's mind,
"Randal will Adam live?"
She waited for a reply and none came. She saw Randal pick up the necklace and he placed it against his son's chest.
"Come on Adam," he said with his voice breaking, "wake up."
There was no reply from Adam and the necklace wasn't bringing Adam back to life.
"No. You have to wake up Adam!" Randal exclaimed.

He kept pressing the necklace up to his son's chest and it wasn't working. After ten tries he gave up and he looked at the others and he said,
"Adam's gone for good."
"No he's not," Joshua said as he brought out his own cross necklace.
The other three brought out theirs and they gave it to Randal. He held all five of them in his hand and all of them, including Adam's glowed brighter than a shooting star and they joined into Adam's necklace. His hands were shaky and Logan, Naomi, Joshua and Kelsey all put their hands on his and together they brought Adam back to life for the last time.

Adam gasped for air and he stared at his dad and his friends. He noticed that his dad started sobbing and he hugged Adam.
"What happened? Didn't I die?" Adam asked.
He let go of his dad who stopped crying and his dad explained everything to him. Adam opened his mouth to speak but he saw Breanne, Mathew, Mrs. Mills and Daniel came in and Adam heard Daniel say,
"Change of plans. You all are preforming in the competition this weekend."
