~Chapter 42~

Genevieve's POV

The car stops and I look out seeing we were at a known Italian restaurant in the suburbs. My smile became bigger as I saw August waiting for me at the entrance.

My door swings open by James and I see him sprint towards me he hugging me and congratulating me," Gene I'm so proud of you ."

I let go of him and show him the golden awards," damn things heavy." He says picking it up like a weight. I laughed before getting it back and picking up my dress before he offered his arm and I linked it with mine before  walking in.

The smell of expensive wine and beautiful slow music danced through my ears and I look over at the modern Italian restaurant my gaze finally rests on Royalty with Landon and I go over to them.

My eyes flick over to a heavy laugh and turn to spot Michael already staring at me and Diana was next to him as she talked to a lady.
He look bored and drained maybe he was since he had to perform a song tonight on stage at the Grammys.

I felt bad for him for a minute he must be exhausted. I forcefully tear my gaze away from as I hear my name being called by Royalty. I sat at one of the round tables with Royalty and August. I didn't really know anyone since it was close family friends of Diana and could tell because Michael was barley socializing with anybody. He looked like if he was the new kid at school.

A few of Michael's friends were here and I greeted them. My insides burst with happiness as
I see the Jacksons arrive and they take a seat next to us. This party was really going to get started.

I greeted them as Janet sat next to me,"Hey Gene."

"Janet!!!" I say happily, We hugged and she complimented me on tonight.

"We should dance." I said as the slow music faded and was changed to something more upbeat. I picked up Landon to dance with since he was the only one that offered- not really and we all walked to a dance floor in the corner.

'My Boo' by Usher started playing and we started dancing and singing."It started we were younger you were mine." I sang.

I turn to face my friends with a laughing Landon who was having way to much fun with him on my hip. Janet took my dance partner making me frown," my boo." She sang back to me.

I was about to drop it like it's hot but a pg version since there were kids here but my arm gets pulled and I turn to meet a smiling Michael.

He said something but I couldn't hear him making me shrug and point to my ear signaling I couldn't hear him. He looked around before he dragged me to a quiet dimmed hallway.

I leaned back on the stone wall as he stood in front me. One more step and he would of been hovering over me.

"I said congratulations on the award." He said smiling. I smiled tucking a piece of my hair behind my ear getting shy.

"Thanks I really worked hard for them." I say twiddling with my fingers he raise his fingers to lift my chin up to look at him.

"You look great too, this dress is nice it compliments you." He says looking at me up and down.

I blushed furiously why was he acting like this? I swear if somebody doesn't stop this I swear to God I'm gonna jump his bones right here, right now
