Chapter 9

"Just sit. I don't want to be more late for college."

Rudra muttered in annoyance when I slide inside the car and he immediately started driving . Well I deserve this because today is our project submission day for the competition and we have only 30 minutes left before the deadline is over. We would have reached the college early but I slept in because divyansh and I was talking on call till early in the morning. I barely had 3 hours sleep.

"I am sorry I slept in this morning." I said. He just nodded stiffly and didn't say anything. I took that as my sign to shut up, hence I did exactly that.

I and divyansh have been on 3-4 dates till now and we talk daily on call. He is very nice to me and fun to be around. I think I quite like him and he too have some fondness for me. Let's see where it goes.

Divyansh :– where are you? I need the does of my daily insults to kick start this morning.

A smile made it's way on my face when I saw his message. I instantly replied to him.

Me :– Hmm.... If I knew better I would have think you, are missing me.

Divyansh :– wasn't I too obvious about that?

Me :– Your words should be clear Mr. Jain.

Divyansh :– I will keep that in mind Miss Mittal.

Me :– You better.

I put my phone in my college bag after that and looked out the window with a smile.

"Can I ask why you are late today?"

I turned my head to rudra when he asked me that question. His face was stoic and his eyes were focused on road. I contemplated on to tell him the truth or just don't say anything. And why am I even contemplating –when he is my foe.... sort of and it's none of his business to ask– is beyond me.

"Well I was talking to.... a friend? ." I said a bit unsure of what to name our relationship as we are surely not just friends but he still didn't ask me to be his girlfriend.

"A friend?  Really. We both know you were talking to divyansh but I don't care. When next time you talk to that boyfriend and decide to stay awake till early in the morning then do not expect me waiting for your haughty self to come so that we can leave for college." he said and put pressure on word boyfriend. The sharpness of his voice made me flinch but I am not putting up with his attitude.

Enough is enough.

Yeah. I may have been a bit careless but hey it's my life and it's not like I forced him to stay. I clearly told him after waking up that I will be late so if he wants to leave then he can but he decided to stay. Although I am thankful that he decided to wait for me but I am not letting him drag, me down because of it. Other girls may put up with his attitude and kiss his ass but I am not that one who let others drag her moral down. A self confidence that I have now, took 20 years of my life to built and claim its place in me and I am not letting it get dent by this sucker.

"I told you conspicuously to not wait for me but you did so now don't snap at me for it. And divyansh being a friend or boyfriend is my personal life which I don't see how is your business and why you are poking your nose."

"Be my guest and do whatever you want to. I don't care, even a little bit about you being a virgin mary or sleeping around with every other boy. I was just making my self clear so you can get out of your kalopsia and see the way things really are." He barked.
