I woke up feeling the soreness in my neck first. Opening my eyes I noticed I was in the living room. Then the soreness in my legs and other places reminded me of what I'd done last night with Harry in this room.
My eyes settled on the mop of hair to my left. Harry was asleep on the couch opposite of mine. He'd let me pull his hair up to see if his bun would be better than mine and he'd left it in. His tattoos were on perfect display as he slept.
I had plenty of time to just sit there and bask in the fact that this was really my life. Harry was really asleep on the couch in Gram's living room, and we'd really had sex against the wall in this room last night.
"Morning Sunshine." Emilia's voice made me jump.
"Sorry, you scared me." I gave a breathy laugh. "How's Gram today?"
"She's good. She just came into the kitchen if you want to have breakfast with us?" She asked.
"Breakfast?" Harry's voice was raspy and full of sleep. "I'll make pancakes."
I giggled and looked over at him. "Morning sleeping beauty."
"No pancakes for anyone who picks on me." He declared sitting up. "Even you beautiful."
I blushed feeing speechless.
"I'll be in the kitchen." Emilia smirked at me before she left.
"I can leave if you don't want me to be here." Harry offered making me feel about two centimeters tall.
"I'd like for you to stay." I said. "Also I want chocolate chips in my pancakes."
Harry smiled and stood up stretching. His shirt pulled up as he did so and I caught myself practically drooling. When I checked to see if he noticed he just gave me his signature smirk.
"Pancakes Mister, no time for funny business." I pointed at him.
He grabbed my hand and helped me off the couch. "There was absolutely nothing funny about us fucking last night Anna." He whispered softly nipping my earlobe.
I was trying to avoid his wandering hands as we made our way to the kitchen. As my stomach fluttered from his dirty words. It was such a perfect morning.
Harry made breakfast and hummed as he cooked. Emilia talked about her classes starting back up. Gram asked me to paint her nails later on while we watched a movie. She even said I could pick the movie. It was wholesome.
"Pancakes ladies!" Harry sat the stack on the table and then handed me a separate plate of ones with chocolate chips.
"How's the album coming Harry?" Gram asked.
"I think I'm almost done." Harry said.
"That's exciting! How long has it take. You?" Emilia asked him.
"Some of the songs are a few years old, but most of them I wrote this year, in the past few months actually." He said.
"Do you have a favorite?" Gram asked.
"Not yet, I like them all for different reasons." He smiled.
Watching Harry talk about music was like watching Mario Andretti talk about racing, or Derek Jeter talk about baseball. It was like he was perfectly in his element. I hope something makes me feel like that some day.
"Anna Marie?" Grams voice pulled me out of my thoughts.
"Hmm?"
"Harry asked you to go on a walk?" Emilia chuckled.
"Oh," I looked at Harry as he stared at me with eyes full of questions. "I'd love to, but the dishes."
"I'll get them." Emilia rolled her eyes. "Go have fun."
"We'll be back shortly." Harry said holding his hand out for me.
I took his hand and let him lead me outside. On the porch Harry twirled me in a circle and tugged me to his side making me smile. We walked down the street a little as he swung out joined hands between us.
"My new single got played on the radio today." He said randomly.
"That's so exciting!" I squealed. "What did they say?"
"That I was new and it sounded like a hit. That they hope the rest of the album is just as good." He said. "I haven't finished every song yet."
"How close are you?"
"Only a few need finishing touches and I have a few more spots to fill, but I just don't know about the song I've been working on. It's really personal." He sighed.
"All your music seems personal to me. I think it's amazing you wrote your own lyrics."
He shook his head smiling at me. "Other people help."
"But you write most of them." I said.
He nodded. "I do."
"Just take the compliment. I think that's amazing." I shrugged.
"I think you're amazing Anna." He said making me blush.
"So a walk?" I changed the subject. "You do realize I'm dressed like a homeless person?"
"I just wanted you to myself before I have to go." He sighed. "I'll be in the studio the next few days and I won't get to see you much."
"I'm not running off anytime soon. You can stop by anytime. I'll be at Grams." I reassured him.
That made him smile. "Glad to hear it. I wanted to ask you something else?"
"What's that?"
He shook his head. "Never mind."
"No, ask me Harry!" I shook his arm.
"No it was ridiculous."
"Ask me anyway." I shook my head.
"I know that you're here for Susie, and you want to spend as much time with her as you can. I just was thinking maybe you could come on a trip with me." He rocked on his feet. "It's business for me, and only a weekend. It will be in Denver and I'd really like for you to come with me.
"When?" I asked.
"This weekend." He said. "If it's too short notice or you don't want to go it's fine."
"I want to go." I smiled. "I just have to make sure Gram will be okay."
"I understand that." He smiled. "Just let me know, yeah?"
I nodded. "You said it's a business trip?"
"Kind of." He shrugged. "I have to meet a few radio stations there and do interviews about the album. It's mostly promotional stuff. My label has contacts there so I have to keep in good graces."
I nodded as we reached Gram's porch again. "I'm sure everything will be fine here for one weekend."
Harry smiled and pressed a tender kiss to my forehead. "I hope so. Tell everyone I said bye."
"I will. Thank you for breakfast." I said.
"Anytime." He laughed. "Bye Anna."
