UPDATE 1.2 - FLASHBACK

JAKE'S POV

In Dycin University we have this kind of requirement na every incoming 3rd year College ay kailangang mag-aattend ng team building, makakasama ninyo ang mga kacourse ninyo no matter what major it is. The expenses will be shouldered by the students.
Magaganap sya usually first day of March and it will lasted for 2-3 weeks.

All of us agreed na magBebeach kami .We choose the D'Beach isang white sand beach at marami daw'ng mga activities na maaring gawin. We need to contribute 30k each para sa 3 weeks vacation.

Habang nagdadaldalan kami ni Bryan about sa outing, there's someone caught my attention. Siya lang yata ang hindi excited sa outing na mangyayari she's kinda sad and frustrated. I asked Bryan kung sino sya since he's friendly and good in memorizing things. Friendly naman ako but I'm not really keen on remembering stuffs of other people's lives.

He said that her name is Sydney Kamille Demetrio, she is a scholar of Dycin University, full scholar to be exact. Wala na daw itong magulang.To sum it up she is living alone and siya lang daw ang bumubuhay sa sarili niya.

I had noticed that wala syang kaibigan dito I don't know why they don't want to befriend with her, maybe alam nila na mahirap lang siya kaya hindi siya pinapansin dito.

Afterwards she stood up and raised her hand. She was hesitant at first when she noticed that everyone became quiet and waiting for her to talk.

"Ahm.. C-can't I come?" She said shyly.

"Ba't naman?" Our class president replied.

"Ahmm... I can't afford the contribution" She said it straight to the point. After she said her worries everyone were buzzing like bees. I heard some harsh comments towards her mostly belittling her situation and it's annoying. Im impressed on what she did because she's being honest and had the courage to voice it out.

"Sorry, Ms. Demetrio pero mandatory kasi ang outing na to eh, kung di ka makakasali may possibility na magiging Octoberian ka" our Class President told her. She just nod her head and seated. I can feel that she was really bothered about the contribution.

I felt pity for her, I know every single cents is too valuable for her. Hindi ako nakatiis so I stood up and told our Class President that I will be the one who'll shoulder her expenses. Everyone seems shocked and surprised. Ipinagkibit ko lang ng balikat ang reaksyon nila.

Lumingon ako sa kanya at napatawa nalang sa hitsura niya her eyes widen and her mouth left hanging open. I just shook my head and seated.

After our room meeting, I was about to go out when someone poked me. Its her. I smiled absentmindedly. I just told Bryan to wait me outside.

"Oyy, seryoso ka ? ililibre mo ko ? " she said with a surprised look. She's still on the state of recovery.

"Yes, why?" I answered plainly.

"Sure ka ? hindi utang ? kasi kung utang mababayaran kita pero pa unti-unti lang." she said and pouted. I find her cute for that. Tskk what am I thinking. I never praised anyone pssh.

"Nah, don't worry about it" I smiled.

"Ang bait mo naman pala akala ko masungit ka. hehe.." She smiled back.

"Haha.. masyado ka naman judgemental" I joked.

"Eiiiihhhh Sorry naman" Sabi nya na nakapout.

I never expected that she has an attitude like this. Akala ko mahiyain sya at hindi marunong makipag-usap sa iba. But I was wrong she's friendly and talkative but not the annoying type. Hmm actually.. she's kinda... interesting?

"Ayy, ako nga pala si Sydney Kamille Demetrio, ikaw si Tim Jake Lopez di ba?" and she offered her hand and I gladly accepted it.

I'm not shocked na kilala nya ako hindi sa pagmamayabang but I'm one also of the so called "popular" here in our whole campus. By the way, if you were asking what course we are, we're taking up BSBA major in Financial Manangement.

"Ahh yes, nice meeting you"

"Ahmm, can we be friends? " she said bubbly. My mood seem enlightened na sya mismo ang nag-alok which yun din naman ang sasabihin ko sa kanya.

"Why not?" I replied. Nag-usap at nag kwentohan lang kami.

Napag-alaman ko na ulilang lubos na sya. She's really persistent na makatapos nang pag aaral sa Dycin University dahil ito ang pangarap niyang eskwelahan kaya pinagsikapan niya na makakuha ng full scholarship. She said na lahat ng kailangan niya inside sa school ay ang paaralan na ang magbabayad such like Uniforms, Books and such.

While her food, shelter and allowance it's on her. Since our outing is outdoor activity hindi na ito shoulder ng school. Kaya pala nalungkot sya sa napakalaking halaga na babayaran niya sana kanina. Magiging Octoberian Graduate sana sya kung nagkataon na hindi siya makakasama.

"Thank you" she answered. She took a glanced of her wrist watch and shocked when it is already 5:00 pm.

"Nakuuu, kailangan ko nang umalis napasarap yata tayo sa kwentuhan, maraming salamat ulit ha, alis na ako," sabi niya. Mukhang nagmamadali siya. I just give her a smile and nod.

"Bye Tim" I'm surprised sa tinawag nya sa akin I really hated it when someone call me that name. Masyado kasing pambata sa pandinig but Im surprised dahil hindi ako nainis nor nagalit sa tinawag sa akin she seem an EXCEPTION.

I was about to stand when my phone buzz. It was Bryan saying that he's already home and thanking me to let him wait an hour for nothing buti nalang daw hindi sya tinubuan ng ugat at nagkabunga dun.

"Haha.. Silly Bry," after I said it I left.

FAST FORWARD

The day went smoothly at nalalapit na ang araw ng outing namin. It's been a month na rin ang aming pagkakaibigan ni Sydney. We kept this a secret sa lahat kahit kay Bry, its our decision na wag ipagkalat sa lahat because I'm concerned on Sydney's privacy and security she might received lots of hatred and criticism sa pakikipagkaibigan niya sa akin knowing that she's a nobody before at biglang nagkaroon ng mayamang kaibigan lalo na sa akin, I am known as picky and snub sometimes. I can predict what will be the reactions of these narrow minded if they will find out our friendship.

Habang tumatagal lalo ko pa siyang nakilala, sobrang gaan nang pakiramdam ko sa kaniya. It's been so long when I felt this sensation. Am I falling for her ?
