Levi's POV

Today was my last day until I was sent off to the the private STEM school all the wall across the country. I would be there for six months. I was excited but also somewhat bummed out. Probably because I was leaving without confessing my love to my idiot best friend, Eren Jeager, who is a freshmen. I'm a Junior. This is why being the smartest kid in school was a curse and a blessing. Sure, this opportunity will score me good when it comes to collages and other academic paths despite my misfortune of living in poverty, but it's also making me leave Eren, my mom, and other people I cared about behind. If i'm being honest, I'm considering not going at all.

"Levi"  faint voice said, then it became louder, "Levi!" I blinked, turning towards the brunette beside me. It was my friend, Hanji. Of course I completely zoned out in the middle of science class, typical.

"What is it, four-eyes?"  I signed, rubbing the bridge of my nose. Hanji huffed.

Crossing her arms and smirking, she said "No need to be such a meanie about it! Now I know you're busy thinking about Eren and your STEM school, but I wanted to know if you wanted to hang out after school to study!" This idiot-

"Hanji, I can't. My mom, Mikasa, and I are going out tonight to 'celebrate my up bringing'." I declared, watching Hanji's expression shift from happy to mildly disappointed as the words rolled off my tounge. She was silent being quite dramatic about it. I sighed.

"Fine, I suppose I can squeeze you in my schedule." I muttered. Hanji grinned and hugged me, crushing my small frame.

"Thanks, Shorty!" The female cheered, "We'll have so much fun!" Suddenly, the bell rang. Finally, lunch period. I stood up from my chaired, waved Hanji off, and began walking at a quickened pace towards mine and Eren's spot for lunch. Eren and I shared the same lunch period while Hanji had to go to fifth hour. I stopped by my locker and to grab my bento box and headed off to the bench under the massive tree right in the middle of our school yard.

Once I arrived outside, I could see Eren, his amazing Caribbean eyes fixated on his signature meal, hamburger stake with rice and a chocolate chip cookie. Figures. I approached the brunette and quietly sat beside the male. He lifted his head and immediately perked up. "Levi! Fancy seeing you here!"

"I literally meet you here everyday, Eren," I deadpanned, holding my hand out, "Just give me your homework sheet already." This is how we bonded, Eren and I. I would look over his homework and correct mistakes while he was blissfully unaware of how much of an idiot he was.  However, he was MY idiot who I had a major crush on and I just had to tell him my true feelings before being sent off.

"Actually, I don't have any today. Armin said he would take care of it for me since I insisted you let your massive brain relax before you're shipped off to a prison!" Eren said, smiling his stupid cute smile that had me head over heels for him. I turned my head to hide my blush.

"I do not have a massive brain, you idiot." I huffed. Eren laughed before shoveling his hamburger stake into his mouth.

"Yeshh you do!" The male said in a muffled voice, his teal eyes smiling. Why does this moron have to be so..so..so adorable?! It's just making me even more upset that I have to leave him behind. I sighed, resting my head in the palm of my head. Now I was bummed out. "Aren't you gonna eat?"

"Not hungry." I mumbled, staring at the grass blades swaying in the wind. Eren was silent for a bit before placing a hand on his shoulder. I shuttered.

"You know, I get you're nervous to be going to a foreign place for a while, but you have nothing to worry about! You'll blow those big headed freaks out of the out of the 1000 iq water!" Eren said passionately, raising a balled fist into the air like he was in some sort of TV show. However, Eren's adorableness make me completely ignore the fact he called me a big headed freak.

Sighing, I lightly punched his shoulder, smiling as I said "You are such an idiot." Eren laughed. I joined. Now was the perfect time to tell him. "Listen, Eren I-" Of course, the damned bell just had to ring right as I had the confidence to confess. Curse the short lunch periods.

"Oop- that's the bell. I'll see you later, smartass. Bye bye!" The brunette stated as he waved, gathering his stuff before running out of sight. I waved, sighing. I missed my shot like a love struck idiot.

"Honey," My mom said softly, "Aren't you going to eat your food?" My little sister, Mikasa, looked up from her phone curiously.

"Not hungry." I replied dryly, playing with the food on my plate. Obviously, that was a lie. I was hungry, just didn't feel like eating. I was just so upset with the fact I didn't get to tell Eren how I felt. I wasn't gonna tell my mom that, though.

"Yeah right," Mikasa huffed, putting a piece of chicken into her mouth, " You are such a horrible liar." My mom frowned.

"What is she talking about, Levi?" Mom asked sternly. Scary. i sighed, leaning back in my chair.

Muttering, I said "I'm just a little upset i didn't have enough time to tell my friends bye. I mean, this'll be my last time seeing them for awhile and I just wanted to make the most of it." My mother's expression softened. Mikasa just looked up from her phone again. Probably messaging Annine again.

"Sweetie," My mother said, patting my raven locks with her small, soft hand, "Everyone is going to be at the airport tomorrow to wish you goodbye. There you'll have at least some time with your friends before your flight."

"Yeah, Eren and Hanji are gonna be there." Mikasa added monotonously, looking back at her phone. I lightened up a bit at that. That'll be my last time to tell Eren my true feelings. I must take it! Even if I end up embarrassing myself in front of my mother and friends. It'll be worth every second.

~.~

Here I was. 7am, my bags packed and at my side. My mother and sister sitting in the seats across from me. My flight was in a couple of minutes. Hanji said she couldn't make it to say goodbye since her Mom broke her foot, but Eren said he'll be here. I'm still waiting.

"Flight 106 to Kyoto departs in 5 minutes." An airport employee announced through the intercom. My heart dropped, I wanted to cry. Eren wasn't going to make it, was he? All that hope, all that excitement, and for what? It was far too late to back out since my flight was minutes away. My mom looked up at me with a saddened expression.

"Honey, It's time to get on the-"

"Levi, Wait!" Eren's familiar voice yelled. I perked up, watching the brunette panting as he stopped at my feet. I stood up. "I'm sorry for being-' I embraced the brunette, tearing up.

"Flight 106 to Kyoto departs in 1 minute, last warning." The intercom echoed. I quick pulled away from the brunette.

"Eren, I know we don't have a lot of time, But there's something I need to tell you." I said quickly, looking up at the male.

"What is it?" Eren asked. Without think I stood up on my tiptoes and kissed him. I didn't want to but I had to pull away.

"I love you!" I grabbed my backs and quickly ran towards my flight. I heard Eren yelling for me to come back. It broke my heart, but I finally got it off my chest. May we meet again in the future, for you are my better half.
