"Thankyou for managing the deal with the Makki brothers last month, the finances and everything. It would have been impossible without you."

Oikawa rubbed his eyes slightly, "Oh yeah, no problem, sir, it is my job after all."

His voice resonated there in the room but his mind wasn't.

Iwaizumi started at the back of his desk to pull out a few papers. Oikawa let his eyes follow his movements, the way his biceps pressed through the fabric of his black blazer as he picked up the brown files, the way his legs moved gracefully-

"Come here."

Oikawa shook himself and went to the desk. Gotta focus on work. The next month was gonna be a test run on the company's holding in finances, a look into the ledger's since the board directors wanted the company to take a new step into the future.

More work, huh? He sighed, his mind drifting, Sorry, Akaashi...

It was around the time were requests and fan mails poured through and the two boys had promised to focus more on engaging their readers in order to not loose the positive connection. But some things would've decided to get in the way.

"-And since you're the acting CFO I would like that you take next month into consideration."

Oikawa stilled, "Wait, what about Mikihito-san. I'm not usurping him, am I?"

Upon the mention of the existing CFO and Oikawa's concern, Iwaizumi directed his attention towards the other, "No, you won't be, it's respectful of you to think of him, especially since..."

He'd been hospitalised.

"-He was temporarily.... let on leave." Iwaizumi made a fool of himself by his choice of words, clearly he needed help.

"Besides, I entrust this position to you, Oikawa-san."

There were a few moments of silence, the brunette looked lazily at the folders and programmes on the desk. Iwaizumi couldn't help but notice how prominent his dark circles were, his face was generally pale and his lips were bitten. Iwaizumi stared at them-

"You can drop the -san, Hajime." He chuckled.

Iwaizumi stared at him at the mention of his first name, but Oikawa wasn't paying him any attention, a gentle smile rested on his lips.

With a lazy arm he ran his hand over the files and picked one titled: "Hyoga Oikawa Limited, the arm in modern engineering."

It was the first copy of the company's schemes and morals written down by the founder of Hyoga Oikawa; Oikawa's grandfather.

Oikawa looked at it and chuckled, "I'll do whatever you want me to.'

Clearly he wasn't listening to whatever was coming out of his mouth, Iwaizumi thought, because that was not the response he expected.

"Hey, are you really okay?"

Oikawa looked at him long and hard, the other male noticed how lost and desolate his eyes were, they were not sparkly like they always were. The hazel speckled with gold and rimmed with the liquid-like hue of sienna was completely gone, instead, rimmed with a sickening shade of black and purple were two bleak orbs of mud, like it was left out in the wilderness for too long.

The day became colder as Iwaizumi stared at Oikawa, taking into account all his features, he knew his junior had other jobs but he never bothered asking him what they were, guilt crept up.
