"That's.... Wow."

Under the cover of the starlight cafe, the spiky, dark-haired male didn't know what reaction to expect from the woman in front of him across the wooden booth.

His throat burned for the millionth time and he once again sipped quietly on his iced tea, coating his dry mouth with its balmy goodness, but no matter how refreshing it claimed to be, it did nothing to settle the torturous rolling within his stomach.

Iwaizumi looked up at the woman, who appeared as regal as always; her black hair probably never saw any bad days and her posture was naturally elegant. Behind the pair of spectacles were two configuring orbs of dark blue, currently processing the load of information dumped on her.

Iwaizumi sighed and dug the heels of his palms into his eyes, feeling a pounding above his brows.

Whatever he was thinking when he decided to tell Kiyoko Shimizu of his situation; clearly she had no involvement in his problem.

And yet...

He looked up again hopefully at Kiyoko, who had a nimble hand to her chin, thinking hard. Why does she bother? He thought to himself, half expecting her to choke on her own cup of americano and strut away in disbelief.

But she didn't, and that puzzled the young CEO.

"So," she finally started, her voice soft, "Oikawa's memories are almost antagonistic; if he remembers all his days in high school - you, Seijoh, Hanamaki and Matsukawa - then he might forget about you in the present?"

"It's... something like that, yes."

Iwaizumi had done his research on Oikawa's health history without the brunette's consent, figuring it was easier to ask for forgiveness rather than for permission, after learning of the suppressed secrets coupled with the latest disasters, he had to talk about it to someone; it was all bottled up within him for so long - the anxiety, the pressure, the terror of the near future and the misery of having long someone dearly close.

He could've shattered just like Oikawa.

So when he confronted Kiyoko out of the office, all he asked for was an ear, and so twenty minutes later he gushed out his story, slightly catching on the incline of his and the brunette's relationship and finally plummeting to the frenzied argument in the cafe with his old teammates.

The thought of Oikawa made him take another huge sip.

"Who is this other friend of Oikawa's that you mentioned?" Kiyoko said after a pause.

"Akaashi. Akaashi Keiji. He has a boyfriend who plays in the same team as Tooru."

Well, fiance is the suitable term now. Iwaizumi cringed at himself for not giving out a more hearty response when he'd learned of the couple's recent engagement which had been announced on social media. He didn't hold any grievances against Akaashi, but it didn't sit well with him when he debated talking to him about his troubles since he barely knew the pretty dude.

So ultimately, he chose Kiyoko, thinking that Akaashi would be somewhat busy anyways.

He probably doesn't know anything about what's going on with Tooru...

"I have an idea."

She is impressive, Iwaizumi thought after raising his head from his hand, suddenly he was hit by how exhausted he really was.
