Unexpected (stydia)

Chapter 3

3rd April 2010

Now Lydia and Allison were sat on Allison's bed in silence. Lydia sat crossed legged, staring at the positive test in her hand. She then smiled sarcastically and sighed, shaking her head.

'what?' Allison asked. 'it's just ridiculous isn't it?' Lydia laughed, 'and you still haven't asked who i slept with.'

'Well it didn't matter in that moment and I didn't want to ask you multiple questions...'

Lydia rolled her eyes, 'i'll just tell you. You clearly want to know.' Lydia then paused, looking at Allison, she sighed, 'It's that Stiles guy...Scott's friend...'

Allison's eyes widened, 'When?!'

'At my birthday party, we both got drunk and I just...we just...I don't even remember it and I don't think he does either. And I've been trying not to think about but...' Lydia shrugged her shoulders.

'That's why he was acting so strange...'

Lydia nodded then rubbed her eyes, 'shit, what am i gonna do?'

6th April 2010

Today was the day. She was going to tell her parents.

She had spent the weekend hiding in her room, she knew her parents were worried but she didn't know what else to do. She just told them she was sick and she wasn't technically lying. But Allison had been messaging her all the time about telling them since the day Lydia left her house on Friday and she knew Allison was right, she had to tell her parents even though she was absolutely terrified.

So now she was sat at her kitchen counter, with her parents opposite her on the other side of the counter, just looking at her. Lydia wasn't saying anything, going over everything she planned on how to tell them in her head.

'Lydia...' Natalie said after another minute, 'what did you want to tell us?'

Lydia suddenly came out of her daze and looked at her mom and dad, 'I- um...' Lydia's dad was frowning at her, him and Natalie waiting for Lydia to say something else.

'I'm um...I'm...pregnant.'

She watched her parents' eyes widen. 'what?' Mr. Martin asked, surprised.

'I'm pregnant...' Lydia spoke it slightly louder.

Mr Martin now had a hand over his mouth, stunned. He then laughed in disbelief, 'are you kidding? '

She shook her head in response, started to feel herself shaking. Mr Martin shook his head, an angry look now on his face. He got out of his seat and stormed away and out of the kitchen. Lydia looked down then a slam from the front door is head by Lydia and Martin. Lydia shook her head and slowly went to look back up at her mom.

It was hard to tell what kind of emotions was on her mother's face, it was a mix between anger and shock. You could tell that her brain was swimming with something to say. The anger look fell off her face and she took a deep breath, looking up at the ceiling. She looked back at Lydia, 'are you okay?' she asked Lydia, in a soft tone. Lydia's mouth dropped open, that was not the question she expected to have been asked. 'yeah...' she just said, even though she really wasn't.

'When did you find out?' Natalie asked. She looked surprisingly calm. 'um...a few days ago.' Lydia answered, feeling slightly less scared, 'me and Allison bought a pregnancy test after school because my period hadn't come and i had other symptoms so i wanted to check...'

Natalie nodded. 'when did it happen?'

'at my birthday party...' Lydia said in some uncertainty. Natalie raised her eyebrows at her, like she knew what Lydia wasn't telling her. 'I-fine.' Lydia said, 'we both got drunk.'
