power.

the game of chess is often addressed as a game of power.

white starts first, black continues.

privileges are given.

and then, the game begins.

the pawns are pushed ahead first.

slaughtered, used, tricked, worn out to fight a war they know nothing about.

the white pawns traipse along the board casually, their job being to defend.

as the game proceeds, the lines blur.

what started out as defense soon turns into instigated strikes.

black must be aggressive now to survive.

but it's not enough.

the white are now backed by the knights.

the black wait it out.

there's a bloodshed soon enough.

the black pull out all the stops. strategies are tied in poise to pull in the big whites.

they don't get trapped that easily.

the struggle ensues.

there is friction along the way. cold, silent, unwavering.

each side waiting for the other to make their first mistake.

its inevitable.

a white pawn is used to bring down a black knight.

that sets the ball rolling.

there's an outbreak of revolt and before anybody knows, all hell has broken loose on the board.

the white try hard to contain their pieces but black gets powerful with every round.

their strategies are solid.

white begins to scramble for stability.

soon the bishops and elephants are pulled into the process.

the queens are watchful, the kings mute.

there's more bloodshed, only now the crudeness has been left behind.

the game grows back to the sophistication is had begun from.

it's a game of power.

black is watchful, constantly watchful. silent, biding their time.

white believes that the game is nearly theirs, for the privilege move game them a headstart.

within six moves, black thwarts out the major whites, leaving the queen and kind scampering for shelter.

there are six against two coins on the board now and the queen puts up a terrific fight, valiant to remain upright.

but she can only do so much without her aids.

she's well cornered by another three moves and ousted.

the king stands alone now, desperate and without any knowledge.

he was only ever a puppet.

by the dawn of the next round, there is a new power on board.

black triumphs, humble about the struggle they've endured to overthrow what has been a terrible privilege.

the sun shines onto a new morning and power changes hands.

it's the dawn of a new world where black is power, black is beautiful.

black is equal.

- the center stage for equal opportunities
