"He looks a bit... peaky... doesn't he?" Ron asks. I elbow him.
"Peaky?" Fred asks.
"What'd you expect?" George continues.
"Fell over a hundred feet!!" Fred adds.
"Yeah, come on Ron. Let's walk you off the Astronomy tower."
"See what you look like." The twins go back and forth, bouncing off each others words.
"Probably a right side better than he normally does." I jump at Harry's voice and squeeze his hand. Everyone smiles and breathes a sigh of relief at the boys awakening.
"How are you feeling?" Comes Hermiones concerned voice from beside me.
"Oh, brilliant." Harry says sarcastically, sitting up. He looks at me and squeezes my hand, rubbing his thumb across my fingers.
"You gave us a right good scare there, mate." George states the obvious.
"What happened?" Harry asks.
"Well.. you fell off your broom." Ron says dumbly.
"Really? I meant the match, who won?" Harry sarcastically responds.
"Um... no one blames you, Harry. The dementors aren't supposed to come inside the grounds. Dumbledore was furious. As soon as he saved you, he sent them straight off." Hermione explains.
"There's uh.. something else you should know too, Harry. Um, when you fell, your broom, it.. it sort of blew into the Whomping Willow and... well it's uh..." Ron shows Harry the remains of his broom. Harry's smile falls and he sighs.
I end up sitting with him for a while and Madam Pomfrey makes him stay overnight just in case. She shoo's us away and I give Harry a hug before I leave. He gives me a kiss on my forehead before I start walking away. The twins each place a hand on my shoulder and walk me out.
"He's a strong lad, he'll be fine. You, on the other hand, need food." Comes the voice of George on my right side.
"I'm really not hungry..." I mutter, anxiety filling my stomach.
"Don't care." They say in unison, guiding me to the great hall where everyone is already eating. They make me sit in between them and make sure I eat something. I push the food on my plate around until I feel someone lightly touch my back.
"Hey, just wanted to check on you after what happened to Potter." Draco says sweetly. The twins eye him and swiveling on my chair, I face him.
"Thank you, it really means a lot, Malfoy." I say with a small smile. "I'm okay, just tired."
"I don't believe that for one second, y/L/n." He says, rubbing my shoulder. With a sigh, I look down.
"You done eating?" He asks. I nod, looking at the twins who shake their heads at me. "Why don't we go for a walk, to clear your mind." I nod, relieved at the idea of being able to get away from the hordes of people.
I get up and shoot a smile at the twins and catch up with Draco. We walk in partial silence and I start thinking.
"You shouldn't think about it too much. It does more harm than good, you know that." I look at Draco who is starting straight ahead. Letting out a sigh, I nod. We start making small talk and it's a welcome distraction. I find myself laughing, even. Draco is better company than you'd think.
"You're not as bad as everyone says, you know." I confess. Draco looks taken aback.
"You don't mean that..." He scoffs, brushing it off.
"I do, Draco." I accidentally use his first name. My eyes widen and I go to correct myself. "Malfoy. I meant Malfoy." He doesn't comment, but looks lost in thought.
"So you and Parkinson, huh?" I ask, changing topics. He scoffs and rolls his eyes.
"She doesn't leave me alone, ever. That's partially why I really appreciate you coming with me on this walk around the grounds. She wouldn't leave me alone at dinner. That, and I was worried about you."
"You were?" I question.
"Of course. Friends worry about friends, y/n." He says as if it's obvious. Friends. That's such a weird concept; a gryffindor girl and a slytherin boy, friends.
"Y/n?" I hear a voice ask from behind me. I turn and see Harry walking towards me, confused. He glares at Malfoy before turning to me again.
"Harry!!!" I gasp and run over, hugging him tightly. He half way hugs back. I sigh. "I thought you were supposed to stay overnight?" He grunts in response.
"We should head to the common room! Oh wait, have you eaten?" I ask him.
"I don't want to interrupt. I'm heading to dinner." He's pissed. Why?? What did i do? He starts walking away.
"Why is he mad?" I ask Draco. He shrugs. "Well, I better catch up with him. I'll see you later, Malfoy!" I say, giving him a hug. He freezes.
"What was that?" He asks.
"Friends give eachother hugs, duh!" I say in a teasing manner.
"Well let's redo that, then." He says with a smile. He gives me a tight hug and for a second I forgot that I was upset, I forgot that Harry is mad, everything left my mind. For a minute I felt... okay.
The moment Draco Malfoy pulled away, my problems came rushing back.
"I got to go!! See you later!!" I say, turning and sprinting towards the great hall. When I'm outside the doors I slow my pace, not wanting to draw attention to myself. Pushing open the doors, I walk in and see Harry with Ron and Hermione. The twins shoot me a confused look.
I walk over and sit beside Harry.
"Hey!" I say, cheerfully. He ignores me, and I look up and see Ron look away from me. Mione gives me a sad look. "You alright, Harry?" He nods. I sigh. "Hurry up and finish your food, I wanna go on a walk with you." I say, leaning against him.
"Why don't you to back to walking with Malfoy." He scoots away from me.
"If you're gonna be like that than forget it. Sorry, forgot I'm not allowed to have friends." I say and storm off to the common room. As I walk off tears prick my eyes, and I glance over at the slytherin table when I feel eyes on me. Making eye contact with Draco, a single tear falls down my cheek and I look at the floor.
