"I left at midnight. I'm sorry but my brain is fried. I haven't seen your face in miles and miles. Always on a different continent, don't forget me now or ever." I saw my mom walking up the aisle of the airplane and swiftly shut my notebook. I still had 15 minutes left in the 24-hour flight from Australia to the US and my dread was growing quickly. I never wanted to leave but it wasn't up to me. I worried about school, about leaving my friends back home, and about never seeing them again. Ever since I can remember I would write down lyrics in my notebook. I've never thought much of it so I never told anyone, it wasn't a big deal it's not like it would ever actually become anything but it helped when times were hard, lately I'd written a lot of lyrics. I imagined more were to come in my first week of school which was starting in 3 days. I started a bit as the intercom crackled to life, "We are beginning our initial descent into Salt Lake City airport please fasten your seatbelts and prepare for landing."
