When I finally got to work the next day, Carly was waiting for me with the biggest grin she'd ever had on her face. She was leaning against her desk, arms crossed, fingers tapping against her forearms in anticipation. I'd barely had the chance to lay my schoolbag down before she was on me.

"What happened with you and Jasper? You two dating now? Is he treating you good? Are you treating him good? I. Need. Details. Sadie."

"Relax," I told her, unable to fight off the grin on my own face. "We had a heart to heart the other night after we left my parent's house, and well, one thing led to another, and here we are."

Carly's jaw dropped. Not from my revelation, but from the lack of details. She wanted the bullet point presentation. She'd been given the summary. She pushed off the desk, gently grabbing my arm before placing me in one of the chairs in front of it before resuming her spot at the desk.

"I can't believe something finally happened with the two of you! After all this time." She looked to the ceiling as if she were thanking all those she believed in. "That is so good to hear, Sadie." She laughed at my raised eyebrows. "If you want to ask me any questions, you're more than welcome to. If you need any tips, advice, a trip to the adult store downtown- "

This conversation had to come to an end. I held up a hand to stop her. "Carly! That's my personal life! My personal details. What happened with Jasper and me is between Jasper and me. You and my mother are going to have to come to your own conclusions on those finer details you want, and I'm not giving them away." My arms crossed over my chest; maybe there were still some secrets about Jasper I was going to keep hidden. No way was I going to tell her that having my back pressed against him while he was inside me, moving in a hypnotic rhythm, was my grandest undoing. That was for Jasper and me. Now that I thought of it, we were going to have to relive that again tonight. So yeah, I had a favorite position; she didn't need to know that, though.

Carly huffed a sigh before giving me her usual happy go, lucky grin. "Oh fine, you little sneaky one, you." She chuckled, hands up in defensive mode now. "Can't blame me for trying, can you?" I really couldn't. She could have that one going for her. When I didn't speak to tell her that I could blame her, she motioned to my own desk, the laptop awaiting me. "I saw your schoolwork load; your shoulder is going to give out before the end of the semester the way you're going. Catch up on your schoolwork; I need an assistant who's smart and happy, not smart, and stressed to the point you can't keep your eyes open."

There'd never be a day where I wasn't grateful for having Carly in my life. The woman was a blessing in more ways than I could describe. From feeding us after school snacks growing up, to helping me get this assistant position while still in school, which never happens to students, to always keeping me up when all I'd felt like was falling down. The world deserved more women like Carly; she was the smartest woman I knew. A true inspiration, she was why I was going into this field. I owed it all to her.

After reading through a section in my book, I put my pen down. "Carly?"

"Yeah."

I smirked at her, a hot blush rising to my cheeks. "It was far from bland." Her eyes widened with wicked delight. "My boyfriend is far from bland." The emphasis on the word boyfriend is what made her snap.

She then jumped out of her chair, hands shooting to the sky. "I knew it! I knew it! I knew it!" a quick spin to me, noticing my quirked eyebrows. "Not about Jasper and the bland thing darling, just knew that you guys would finally get together!  I so knew it would happen! I just knew it!"

It didn't hurt to divulge the overview of the night's events. Carly was skipping around the room long after I returned my attention to my work. I got through a few more pages before Carly sat on my desk in front of me, a hand held out in offer.
