Olivia's POV:
"Well what is his name? And what does he look like? What grade is he in?" Beau bombarded me with questions. I answered them one at a time.
"Calum is his name, he has brown hair and brown eyes and I don't know what grade, B. I didn't get the boy's whole life story." Her smile faded and she didn't say anything else until we got to her house.
"Be careful around him, Liv.", She said, "He's dangerous." Next she shut off the engine and got out of the car, leaving me behind with just my thoughts. What does she mean he's dangerous? I did just meet him, but he looks perfectly harmless. And how does Beau even know him? Have they met before? Were they friends before I came here?
I could feel a migraine forming, so I grabbed my bookbag and got out of the car, heading inside. I walked straight to the kitchen cabinet and pullled out a small orange bottle. I smiled a sad smile and read the label:
Prescribed to Olivia Noel Newton by Physician Robert Franklin M.D.
Antihistamines
Take one pill by mouth each morning
Fuck the whole "One each morning" thing, I'm taking one right now. I pour myself a glass of water and swallow the tiny pill. I have a bad habit of thinking about death while taking pills. Whenever I swallow a pill, I can't help but think "What would happen if this pill got stuck in my throat?" and the thought alone is enough to keep me away from drugs.
After putting my glass in the sink and my medicine back in the cabinet, I walk back to my bedroom while making sure to avoid Beau at all costs. When I go into my bedroom, something feels weird. I look around but don't see anything out of place. I look down at my outfit and decide to change into something a little more comfortable.---
Just a few minutes later and I looked completely different. I changed my hair, re-did my makeup, and switched outfits. Now I was dressed in black sweatpants with a grey tanktop and a different pair of boots. I used my hair wand and culed a few random pieces of hair and put on nude lipgloss and more mascara. I also had on my airplane necklace and a few random braclets, as always.
I had no idea where I was going, I just grabbed my phone and walked downstairs and through the back door. When I walked through the back door I noticed that the sun had already set and the moon was out. The normally warm summer air had a slight chill to it, but nothing that I couldn't handle. Due to my lack of friends, I had no one to hang out with, so I sat down on our porch swing and pulled out my phone. I dialed the one person that I can always talk to. Jacy.
"Hello? Who is this?" She said. It was nice to hear a familiar voice.
"Hi Jace. It's me, Olivia." I said with enthusiasm.
"Liv, why the fuck are you calling me at 7 in the morning on a Tuesday?" Oops. I forgot about the 12 hour time difference.
"Oh, sorry Jace. I forgot about the time difference. I just really miss you." I told her truthfully. I have never lied to her before and there is no point in lieing to her now. I heard her chuckle.
"I miss you too, Liv. I was going to call you soon, I just didn't know when would be a good time. How are you liking Australia so far?"
"You can call anytime Jace. You should know this by now. And Australia is great, but..." I trailed off, debating on telling her about Luke and Calum or not.
"But what Liv? You don't need to keep a secret from me. We're best friends, remember?" She said. I smiled because it felt nice to be cared about.
"At school today, there was this badass boy. He was hot as hell. He pushed me againt my locker and gave me a hickey and then claimed me as his girl. He seems like an asshole but I don't know how to feel. And then at the end of the day, I was rushing to the Beau's car to ride home with her, and I literally ran into someone. He is really hot, J. Like, really hot. He told me that his name is Calum and smiled a cute smile at me and then I left but when I brought him up to Beau, she told me to stay away from him because he's, quote on quote, "dangerous". I haven't said a word to Beau since then. I don't know what to do about it. I need your help."
"Well, Liv, you could bring it up to her, or you can wait for her to bring it up to you, it's your choice. Just keep in mind that since you two live together it might be awkward until one of you bring it up." She told me.
"God I miss you J. I love you so much, but I know what I have to do. I have to go talk to Beau. Call me whenever."
"Okay Liv. I love you and miss you. I'll call you about 6. It'll be 6 in the morning there, though. Talk to you soon." And then the call ended. I lied to Jacy. I'm not going to talk to Beau, I'm going to talk to Calum. I already have my phone and house key, so I just leave. Before I leave though, I scream out to Beau that I'm going out so that she doesn't worry. Then, I grab my skateboard and ride down the road. Using my cellphone, I pull up a GPS and ask for the nearest nightclub. Just my luck that the closets one is only a mile away.
-
After riding for about 10 minutes I finally arive at the night club. I do not expect to see Calum here by chance, that would be stupid, I'm just hoping to find out some information like his number or his address. Getting his address may seem creepy, but I can stop by there and get his number. I hide my skateboard behind a dumpster and walk to the entrance of the popular looking club. By the looks of all the teenagers, they must not ID anyone here. I look at all of the girls there that are dressed in short dresses and mini skirts, while Im wearing a tanktop and sweatpants. At least I look cute.
I walk into the club and scan the dance floor and bar for anyone that goes to my school. I finally see one familiar face. I think that her name is Amelia or Arabella or something like that. She's in my 4th block. I walk up to her and tap her on the shoulder. She turns around and gives me a warm smile.
"Olivia, right? You're in my 4th block class! I'm Arabella!" She says. She is so much prettier than me that I'm insecure.
"Yeah, Olivia. I prefer to be called Liv, actually. I'm not here to drink or party, hence the outfit, but I was wondering if you know who Calum Hood is?" I hope she doesn't think that I'm stalking Calum. Oh well.
"Tall, fit, brown hair? Yeah. I know him. I don't know him personally, though. Why do you ask?""I was actually wondering if you have his number. I need to talk to him." She gave me an odd look.
"I do have it. Hang on real quick." She told me. She pulled out a cellphone and tapped on a few things."That's it right there.", she said while pointing on a contact labeled 'Cal(;;;' ,"Program it into your phone and then give me my phone back."
I did as she said and programmed it under 'Calum:~)'. I hope that she doesn't think that I'm a weirdo. I handed her back her phone and left the nightclub without even saying good bye. I walked behind the club and grabbed my skateboard and put it on the ground. I rode down the rode and skidded to a stop infront of an abandoned park. I pulled out my phone and dialed Calum's number. Time to make a new friend.
