*Resurrection stone*
*Phoenix by Riddle TM-chapter/background music*
Setting: Moaning Myrtle's bathroom; Scorpius paces the room with the stone in his hand, Scorpius's POV...

"What am I doing?" I mutter to myself

"Your not like your mum," Myrtle says as she appears in the window sill a above, "how long are you going to pace around with that rock instead of actually using it?-your pacing is getting tedious."

"..." I say nothing but stop my pacing as I try to decide if I even want to see & hear what my mum will say

"You really aren't like your mum," Myrtle mopes, "she would've brought a book or tell a story-"

"Why would I be anything like that filthy half blood," I sneer

"YOU ARE WHAT SHE WAS!" She screams at me, "therefore,YOU HAVE NO ARGUMENT TO STAND ON!"

"What would you know," I mutter

"I know more than you think," she snaps with a scowl while close in my face before going straight through me-sending chills down my spine

"..." I shiver slightly as I watch her rest in the window ceil

"She would come her to be alone with me," she tells me, "to cry with me," she goes on-though I doubt mum was 'crying with her,' more likely Myrtle just joined her, "she and her friends would have their meetings in here," she goes on, "she use to read to Peeves and I, tell us stories-she was the only one student able to handle Peeves-and she was one of the only two humans he liked enough to leave alone or listen to..."

"Tell me more," I almost beg without realizing it

"And why should I?" She snaps, "why should I tell a brat like you, a brat who insults his mum anything?"

"..." my eyes falter to the floor & my voice is lost with the answer

"She did her best to stand by both her uncle and your father during the years leading to as well as during the war," she tells me, "she even asked me to give sanctuary to your father if he should come here for some reason-and I did."

"..."

"She tried to off herself a number of times," she adds in a she turns to look out the window, "if she wasn't here, she'd be in the owlry or library...if I were you, I'd use that rock and hear what she has to say."

"You know what this is?"

"Of course I know!" She snaps, "everyone's heard of the deathly hallows."

"Can I stay here?" I ask her, "and do it-"

"I suppose," she says before Moaning & diving into her toilet

That said, I do as my mum's reflection in the mirror showed me-thinking of her as I do so & when I open my eyes, she's there, standing before me. No eyepatch as I always knew her to have, both hazel eyes in tack & not a single look of frailty about her like when I saw her in that coffin. A warm, yet sad smile on her face as she looks at me; I feel an ache in my chest at the sight of her & it only grows when I reach out to touch her-but my hand just goes through her. Without saying a word, we both find seats on the bathroom floor & we just stare at each other for a long time before I actually find anything I want to say...

"Mum I-"

"I've been waiting," she cuts me off

"I'm sorry," I tell her, "why do I have this stone?-how did you come by it?" I ask her, "Uncle Harry said it was lost when he went to die-"

"We lived in the forbidden forest a while when you were growing up," she tells me, "Hogwarts and the school grounds are the safest place I've known," she goes on, "no one can apparate in or out of the school, if they wish to enter, they must do so by foot. I knew we'd be the safest here...a friend of mine grew up in the very tree house we raised you in," she adds in, "a good friend of mine, a centaur found it and brought it to me. By this point, I already knew I was going to die, so I kept it for you to one day use...the wand was destroyed by your uncle, he holds the invisibility cloak that's been passed down through our family for generations and the thought he made sure the stone would be lost forever, but it wasn't-"
