"May the goddesses bless you in your marriage!" Pastor Nick announced and raised his hands high up in the air as the people clapped and cheered in the background. The images of the three goddesses depicted on the rose windows above us gave way to a warm light that illuminated the interior of the chapel.

I felt a hand touch mine, causing me to look at the person who was standing firmly beside me, dressed in a white tuxedo. Jean, with a wide smile on his strangely elongated face, clasped my hand tightly. "Now, we'll be together forever," he said, his eyes merely inches away from mine.

Wait, what?

I looked down and saw that I was wearing a bridal gown. When I tilted my head up, Jean puckered his lips and instantly, I knew what was coming next. I wanted to wipe that disgusting look on his face with a good old punch but I was frozen in place.

What the actual fuck?

"Cali, I love you."

Holy-

"--i! Cali!" Amelie finally shouted in my ear, shaking me by the shoulders to bring me back to consciousness.

I blinked my eyes hard and gasped.

So it wasn't real. Shit. I'm having a hard time trying to tell my dreams apart from reality these days.

"Had a bad dream?" Amelie reached a hand out to pat my back, her eyes filled with concern. She was already dressed for the day, wearing her wearing her long green dress and sleeveless brown vest. Her hair was tied in a simple ponytail. She always asked me to braid her hair for her when we had drills or during expeditions but today, I wondered if she was going out without asking me to.

"Yeah." I massaged the side of my head, trying to erase the memory of the nightmare from my mind. I got up and watched as she sat back on her bed. "How did you know?"

Amelie shrugged. "After the expedition we had, I wouldn't be surprised. It's kinda normal to be having bad dreams after... Well, after that." She paused. "I had a bad dream too."

I looked at her with a straight face. "Trust me, this is entirely different from what you're imagining."

"Then what was it about? Was it about Titans?"

I rubbed the space between my brows in an attempt to calm myself down. "I'd rather not talk about it."

Amelie raised a brow in confusion but she didn't press on. "All right," she sighed.

"Is it just me or are you less annoying today?" I asked jokingly. Usually she'd laugh at my sarcasm but oddly enough, she didn't. She cast her gaze down as if a painful thought haunted her. "That dream I had really took a toll on me. I thought it was real." Her voice trembled.

"Would it help get it off your mind if you told me about it?"

Amelie shook her head. "No. Sorry, but I get the feeling I'd have to deal with this myself. Thanks for worrying though." She stood up from her bed, opened the door and let herself out. "I'll be going out first, okay?"

Weird. She's always asked for my help before. I shrugged it off. I had bigger problems to worry about. One of them is, well...

Jean.

It was a lovely Saturday morning for the residents of Wall Rose. I had tied my hair up in a neat bun, the way I liked it, and worn my white long-sleeved shirt and old-fashioned broomstick skirt before going out into town. The bazaar buzzed with activity as I strolled around the city streets, looking for something interesting to buy. And when I say lovely, I mean downright shitty. The people here know nothing about the world outside these walls. I'm appalled that they can live so peacefully and still keep dissing the Survey Corps for bringing back loss after loss. You can't make them understand what we have to go through unless they experience being soldiers themselves.
