You named your dog Eren?! (Modern AU Eren x Reader)

"Eren!" You called. "Ereeeeeeen!"

At first, you heard nothing. The living room stayed empty, and you stood by a red sofa facing a flat screen TV. You rubbed your bare feet along the floor rug as you waited.

Finally, from the dog door, a brown Border Collie sprang forth and sat beneath your feet, tilting its head at you as a gesture that you found cute. It stared up at you with its blue eyes, awaiting your command.

"Come here, boy!" You knelt down. "No drills for today, just cuddling!"

You giggled as Eren, the dog, rubbed his fur against your leg. He was a sporting dog, one you trained just for fun until he was scouted by someone to join a herding event. Apparently he won several medals and you just decided to train him for the sake of joining dog sports.

It was actually quite funny to you how you ended his career a few weeks ago. The spectators were quite disappointed. They said he was a very lucky dog, with you as his owner, but you owed it all to his talent.

Even after retiring, you still trained him as you normally would but not as much as you used to. He was on his way to being a perfectly normal dog. That was the way it should be.

As to why you named him Eren, well...

"What does it take to get some attention over here?" Your boyfriend sighed, leaning on the doorframe as you wrestled with your dog.

It dates way back to middle school, way before your boyfriend named Eren Jäger proposed to you.

But that was years ago. Now you were living with your lifetime crush, weaving your way into marriage little by little as he worked to get his Master's degree.

Eren grinned at you in his uniform, the usual shirt and tie he wore to work. Though his clothes were slightly unkempt, he wore a firm posture, making him look less of a mess than he should. To you, he was perfect no matter how disheveled he appeared.

You smiled and ran into his embrace, dog Eren trailing behind you.

"I'm home," He gave you a small peck on the forehead.

"Welcome back." You put your arms around his neck, smelling his perfume from this morning. "How was your day?"

"Tiring as usual," He chuckled. "But I could get used to coming back to you like this everyday."

You raised a brow at him. "So you're not used to it yet?"

"Maybe if you save some of that cuddling for me, I might get used to it quick."

"Is that a suggestion?" You laughed.

"Who knows?" He claimed your lips, his vague remark hanging in the air. He took a step backwards and fell on the sofa, bringing you along with him.

He was tugging at the hem of your shirt as he pushed his head forward, drawing out a moan from you.

Eren the dog suddenly barked, causing the two of you to stop. The Border Collie gazed at you curiously, perhaps wondering if he could join in the fun.

Eren rubbed the space between his brows, looked at you then burst into a fit laughter. You joined him soon after getting off his lap and sitting beside him.

The dog climbed up the sofa and settled its head on your lap. Eren gave you a sulky expression.

You raised your hands. "What?"

"After all these years," he sighed, "I still can't believe I'm jealous of a dog who has the same name as mine."

You wiped your fingers across the lines forming on his forehead. "You don't have to be. I love you both the same."

"That's what bothers me." He said. "There are times when I want you all to myself."

"Oh." You felt yourself blush.

"But I don't mind having this little guy around." His face came closer to yours. "Just as long as I get some alone time with you too."

"Idiot." You closed your eyes. "You can have as much as you want."

"Arf!"

Two pairs of eyes stared at Eren the dog in silence.

"How about we take this some place quieter?" Eren sighed.

You smirked at him. "Bath time, Eren."

He groaned and watched you command the dog to go outside, then widened his eyes when you pulled his tie.

"Not the dog. You."
