Birthday Surprise (Eleventh, again lol)

You walked into the TARDIS with a large smile on your face. The Doctor had been so kind to you for your birthday and took you to so many new places. Miraculously, none of the planets the two of you had gone to needed any saving. You got to enjoy a lovely day with your boyfriend and relaxed as much as you could. 

The Doctor took you to such amazing places! You saw the sapphire falls on Midnight, the birth of a new star, Akhaten, a planet that is just one gigantic field of flowers, and Earth before humans could destroy it. It was absolutely wonderful! He always found new ways to make you feel more loved than you ever could have imagined. 

When the Doctor joined you at the console, you stood on your tip toes to press a gentle kiss to his lips. You always appreciated everything he did for you and today was already becoming your favorite day ever.

"I have one more place to take you. Its somewhere very very special to me." He smiled as the two of you separated. He pressed another kiss to your forehead and started putting in the coordinates.

Whenever the TARDIS would shake horribly, the Doctor always did his best to hold onto you so you wouldn't fall. He would ask you to do the half of the piloting he couldn't since he was occupied with holding onto you, not that either of you minded.

He told you what buttons, plotters, levers, and all sorts of random things to use and you did it exactly when he said to. Something felt a bit more familiar about this time than all of the other times you had helped him.

"Have we been here before, Doctor?" You asked when the both of you had finished, both of you placing one hand on the last lever. All he did was nod and the two of you pulled the lever, a smile gracing his lips.

"Would you like to step out first, (y/n)?" The Doctor asked, fiddling with his bowtie a little. You laughed a little as he 'fixed' it by making it even more crooked than it already was.

"As long as there's nothing bad out there," You fixed his bowtie and then turned on your heel towards the doors. As you stepped towards the door, you heard the Doctor shuffle around the console and move some things around. Although you were curious about what the Doctor was doing, you were a bit more curious about his 'very very special place' that he took you to.

As you opened the door, you were immediately hit with the scent of the ocean. You peered out and smiled at the sight. This is where you met the Doctor all those years ago. Inside this tiny little cave near your favorite beach that you went to as a kid. He was injured but didn't want to go to the hospital - now you know why - and so you took him to your house to try to help him.

Inside of the cave is a small table with two chairs and a candle in the middle. There's a red tablecloth underneath the candle and two plates, dragging on the ground as the breeze hit it.

"When did you have time to do all of this, love?" You asked him as he stepped out of the TARDIS. You were tearing up a little as you thought about how absolutely perfect that day was.

"I had a few friends help out." He winked and pulled out a chair for you. "M'lady."

You giggled at the gentlemanly act and sat in your seat, smoothing out your shirt. "Why, thank you, kind sir."

He chuckled and sat down in the seat across from you, "hope you dont mind but I made some dinner that I hope you will like."

You raise an eyebrow at this, "you? Cooking food? It's not fish fingers and custard is it?"

He let out a small laugh, shaking his head. "No, its... something from home." He said quietly. "Gallifrey."

At that moment, our favorite homicidal potato, Strax, came out wearing a suit and holding a tray with two dishes.

"Your sustenance, sir, madam." He placed the food in front of us. "I hope the wrath of the poison shall not affect you too much."

"There's no poison!" You could hear Madam Vastra's voice from outside the cave.

Strax gave an awkward bow and apologized before leaving, tray under his arm. You couldn't help but to shake your head at your favorite homicidal potato.

You looked down at the food that the Doctor made and grinned. It looked like some strange red pasta dish but with a few extra spices that you'd never seen before.

"This looks delicious, Doctor. What is it called?" You asked as you took your fork in hand to stab some of the noodle-like things.

He told you the name and you smiled at the beautiful name of it. You took a small bite and nearly moaned at the taste. It was better than anything you had ever eaten before!

"Its tradition," the Doctor began with a slight tremor in his voice. You looked up in confusion. It wasn't a scared or sad tremor. It was nervous. "A lady of Gallifrey, or whoever I choose I suppose, will eat a home cooked meal made by her, in human terms, boyfriend." He stood up and gave me a nervous smile. "I'm blending my traditions with yours, (y/n).

"Since I met you on this beach inside of this cave, I was whipped. I saw how clever you are, how beautiful you are, and how kind you are. You're everything I've ever wanted. And even though I'm an alien who changes faces, you still find it in yourself to love me. Now it is my turn to show you how much I love you and cherish you forever. (Full Name)," you gasped as he got down on one knee with tears in his eyes. "Will you do me the honor of becoming my beautiful and-and amazing wife?"

Time seemed to slow down as his question reverberated through your mind. Your heart was pounding hard and tears came to your eyes as you were suddenly filled with nothing but love and joy!

"Of course, Doctor." You smiled, nodding your head. "Of course I'll marry you."

The glimmer of hope in his eyes brightened even more to a shimmer of joy. He stood up and pulled you into a very very deep kiss, making you giggle against his lips. You felt him take your hand and slide a ring onto your finger and when the two of you pulled away, you looked at it in awe.

It was gold with a ruby as the main stone. The sides of the ring were embedded with diamonds and onyx. The ruby itself was cut into a heart and surrounded with gold that looked sort of like petals, making it look like the ruby was a flower budding from the ring.

You pressed another kiss to your now-fiancé's lips, wrapping your arms around him. You didn't even notice Vastra and Jenny's congratulations to the both of you as you could only focus on him. There was no denying it. Today was the best birthday ever.
