Chapter 20

After another week of them just hanging out at Mrs. Potter's house, Regulus's therapy sessions, and hanging out with James's old crew they decide to head back home. The drive was long, but not as long as the first one.

"JAMES!"

"What?" James asked looking away from the road, concern filling his mind.

"Look at that sign! It says 'WORLD'S BEST ICED COFFEE' we have to go try it!"

"That we must sir Reginald!" James saw Regulus flushed pink cheeks, wild smile, hair in a messy bun, loose strands falling everywhere. He's perfect. James thought grinning.

"Ew what the fu- fudge don't call me that." Regulus nose scrunched up as he tried to hide his smile.

"Brb road! We will be back though!" James hollered pulling off the interstate.

"Did you for real just say brb instead of be right back?" Regulus deadpanned, not even caring about hiding his smile anymore

"That I did Reggie!" James grabbed Regulus's hand giving it a soft kiss.

They got to the coffee shop and ordered. James went with a pumpkin spice latte, with a pump of carmel. Regulus got a pumpkin spice oat milk latte, extra ice. "JAMES! This is the best coffee ever!"

"Are you ok? You never act like this?" James pulled to the side of the road.

"I'm fiiiine hunny bunches!" Regulus gasped. James put his hand on Regulus's face. "You're burning up, we're stopping at Lily and Cissy's diner, it's only like 45 mins away. 20 if I drive like Remus."

"We don't need to stop! I'm fine I swear, just a bit cold." Regulus replied. James got out of the car and opened up the trunk. He grabbed a water, his hoodie, two blankets, a pillow, and a Tylenol.

"Here you go babe, take the Tylenol and get some rest." James said opening Regulus's door. He made sure Regulus was all set and comfortable before closing the door and getting in the driver's seat. "Ready to go?" Regulus was already asleep, he looked so calm it made James heart flutter. His face turning a light shade of pink complimenting his soft freckles, he looked at the road almost challenging it. He spread off into the day determined to get Regulus somewhere safe.

~22 mins later~

James pulled up to the diner, Regulus was still passed out. He walked in fidgeting with a pan pride bracelet Sirius got him a few years ago. I teen girl about 14 was at the register. "Hi, I'm James! Is Lily or Cissy here?"

"Depends who's asking?" The girl had bold eyeliner, bronzy skin, and wild hair.

"James Potter, I grew up with Lily and became friends with Cissy a few years ago. My boyfriend is sick in the car he's Narcissa's cousin."

"MA'AM'S THERES someone here to see you." She grinned, "I've heard about you."

"Oh really? About my charming personality, beautiful face, kind heart?" James laughed. Narcissa walked in pulling her hair into a ponytail. "James? What are you doing here?" She ask dropping her hair letting it all fall from her hands, she sighed defeatedly.

"Regulus's got really sick and I was wondering if maybe you knew of a hotel nearby to stay at?"

"You're staying with us." Lily walked in, wrapping an arm around the younger girls shoulder. "This is Imani by the way. We are fostering her so she's with us too!" Lily grinned as a proud mother would if her daughter just won an Olympic medal.

"I can take care of the diner you take Imani and then to the house. Set up the office room with the spare mattress." Lily instructed. Giving everyone a quick hug. The three went outside realizing they'd all have to ride in James's car so Lily could get home.

I'm back!!!!! So I'll be working on posting at least two more chapters this weekend! Idk really know where this book is going but we are getting there I just know it, lol.
