POV Harry
I stare out the car window in silence. I can't believe all of that really just happened.
Emotional. That's the only and best word I would use to describe whatever I just experienced.
Seeing Auden, talking to Auden holding Auden... it's simply a drug. It's the type of thing you knew you always loved but once it's taken away, you only want it more.
Does that make sense? Am I talking like a madman?
"So then does that mean you guys going to go on a date?" Zayn asks.
I turn my head away from the window to meet his eyes. Well, that was fast.
"What?" I ask.
"Harry did you seriously just miss that entire conversation?" Zayn huffs.
I look around at the four boys looking at me curiously. Oh, I guess I did.
"Y-Yes?"
"It's alright. Just give us a tiny update. What's your plan?" Liam prompts.
"Well, I offered to take her out sometime this week. She only said yeah which is quite broad. Ahhh.." I sigh. "Was that just a way to let me slip off the hook? Let me down easy? I don't think she wants to go out with me again."
I run my hands through my hair tugging at the strands aggressively.
"You have to remember Harry, she was just as shocked as you were to see her. She wasn't expecting you therefore she probably doesn't have her feelings sorted out or a speech prepared to answer you. She has your phone number, she'll call you if she wants to." Liam reasons.
"Gosh, I hope she does. I miss Auden. Not the way you do of course. But, she's so much fun." Niall reminisces.
Liam is right though. She has my phone number. She knows where I'll be. She knows where to find me...
"I know this is a big day for you but I never received my thank you for staging this entire scheme." Louis smirks.
"Vhat are you talking about Louis? We all did our part!" Zayn exclaims.
"Yeah! I practiced that American accent for so long it gave me a headache." Niall sighs.
"Hold on. You were all in on it?" I arch my eyebrow.
"Yes!" the four of them all echo.
There's two ways I can look at this.
1. They all worked together to stage this in attempt to make me happy because they care for me. 2. They're all lying bastards.
I chose to go with option number one since I was naive enough to believe Louis was going to Miami without a plan of attack.
"Thanks guys." I smile shyly.
By the time we arrive at the hotel, my head is feels heavy and my brain is exhausted. This entire situation makes me nervous, hopeful, and excited all at once.
We head to the conference room in the hotel and sit on the couches as cameras are set up for our interview. It's only day one in Miami and we have a lot of press to do.
We have an interview in about 20 minutes and a dinner with some of management. If Auden decides she wants to have dinner I will do more than make time. I will leave the dinner early if I have to.
Tomorrow is definitely more busy. We have rehearsal in the morning and a panel later in the afternoon. My next 48 hours will be filled with emotional distress and work. Perfect.
"We'll figure this out, Harry. We have time." Niall assure me before the cameras start rolling.
"Hello everyone, I'm Katherine Wright with One Direction to talk about their Where We Are Tour and their latest album, Midnight Memories. How are you boys doing today?"
I relax a little as our interviewer begins to make small talk. I feel my phone buzz in my pocket and I freeze.
Liam, who's sitting next to me, feels the vibration as well. He shoots me a warning look as to say, don't even think about checking your phone.
Ugh. Self control. Self control. I need to get through this and worry about Auden and I later.
"Why don't you tell me about shooting the music video for Midnight Memories?"
"It was so much fun to do. We filmed it in December of last year in London. It was a bit chilly, but so much fun to do." Liam answers.
We nod along with his response. My phone buzzes again.
Oh my god this is going to be the death of me. I pretend to be zoned in and focused on the interview and laugh whenever Niall does and nod whenever Liam gives a long informative answer.
"Last time you boys were in Miami, romanced blossomed and you met a special someone. Harry have you and Auden connected since you are back in her home town?" the question catches me off guard.
I look over at management wide eyed but they don't advise me to dodge the question.
Well here we go, I guess.
"I think arriving in Miami definitely reminds us all of the fun time we had last summer on tour. Auden and I are working things out privately... and uh if there's time, maybe catch up and reminisce for old times sake." I answer.
I don't want to give a too forward answer because frankly, neither of us really know what's going on. Even if we do even attempt to figure things out, I don't want to give the media or the fans any ideas either.
I should have gave a more complex response. Dammit.
When the interview is over I quickly fish my phone out of my pocket and check my text messages. My face falls when I am let down and the person I wanted to hear from most is not in my recents.
Instead, it's my mum wishing me good luck on my panel tomorrow.
