POV Auden

The damp sand squishes in between my toes as I walk across the beach. I carry my shoes in my hands as I walk towards the lifeguard chair.

"Well this is familiar." Harry chuckles.

I smile shyly as I think back to last summer. Of course I decided to bring him here tonight. It feels like that night was decades ago.

Last year we sat on the lifeguard chair and had our first real and open conversation. Harry confessed a lot that night and ended up inviting me on tour.

It's a night I have done everything in my power to push out of my mind but tonight I accept thinking about it. It was an important night of our relationship and the night Harry was the most open besides tonight.

We continue our walk until we reach the lifeguard chair and climb up to the top. As I stare out to the water, I can't help but cuddle up beside him.

"I've missed this." he murmurs into my neck.

"Me too."

Me too is an understatement. For so long I told myself it was horrible to want him, dream about him- let alone think of him. But now, knowing everything that happened, I couldn't be more happy I never have to have those thoughts again.

"Not to bring up unhappy thoughts and such but I can't help but wonder about your father. Last time we were up here was the first time you shared any details about him. Has anything happened since this morning?" Harry asks.

"No. You have no idea how crazy that was. Seeing you and him at the same time...it was a crazy wave of emotions. I haven't seen him since this morning and I don't plan on it ever again. He doesn't know where my mom lives so I'm not worried about that either."

A cool breeze blows through us and I cling to Harry's shirt tighter. I feel the goosebumps rising on my skin.

"Auden?"

"Harry?"

"Can I show you something?" he turns to lock direct eye contact with me.

I nod. I want to melt right now in this moment. He fishes out his phone from his pocket and his fingers move furiously across his iphone screen.

He hands me his phone and his finger hovers over a photo album. My heart leaps out of my chest when I see it's titled A.

"Alphabetizing your photo albums I see?" I grin.

He playfully nudges me but laughs anyway.

"Take a look." he instructs.

I take his phone from his hands and any theory I had of what I was going to find, vanishes. It isn't pictures of us, love songs, or memories he was waiting to show me, it's art.

"After you left New York, one of the many things I did to keep myself sane was take pictures. It made me feel like you were still with me because I knew if you were, that's what you'd be doing." he explains.

I swipe my thumb across the screen as I gawk at the beautiful photos. Sunsets, beaches, landmarks, tourist attractions, cityscapes- the list goes on.

"I can't believe you did this." I continue to look through pictures.

"Is it ok if I have them? If they are too personal I understand, but some of these are just so gorgeous-"

"Of course you can. I took them for you after all." he grins at me.

I begin selecting and sending them to myself as quickly as possible. I am going to have no trouble with inspiration for the next few months, that's for damn sure.
