The Talk

"There's something that i would like to talk about"

Eddy shivered at how Brett spoke to him, the icy undertone from his statement alerted him.

"..okay?" Eddy replied, not sure as he distanced himself from Brett.

"well" Brett wetted his lips "you see,.."

Brett stole a glance at Eddy's innocent gaze,

apparently it was a mistake.

For Eddy's pure and undivided attention was solely directed on him.

The adoration on the younger's eyes was always apparent for Brett, he almost mistook them as his default face, even when he's anxious like now.

Brett braced himself, the words tingled on the tip of his tongue. Here goes nothing...

..But, how could someone had the heart to tell this precious little cherubs like Eddy when he'd been openly vulnerable infront off Brett, even his cute little bunny teeth peeking through his lips screamed the word innocent at Brett!

Such sweetness, much purity.

And Brett had to tell him about his whole 'soulmate searching',  and how Eddy was one of the strongest candidate, but there's a new challenger appeared, and how they probably should stop doing their funny bussiness because Brett want to go for Hyung and it's kinda unfair for both of them if they continue their fuck buddy arrangement (and other phsyical intimancy)? to this cute dorky face??

..To think about it, Brett doesn't want to stop their sexual arrangement, but even Brett had more decency than that.

"I was just....- you know what? you want to cuddle right? come here" Brett opened up his arms to Eddy.

The cute bunny teeth made their full appearance as the owner smiled cutely at Brett. Eddy turned off the lamp, then he wasted no time as he claimed his spot next to Brett.

...if only that innocent little boy knew what he had done, and the thoughts passing through his mind just now.

"Thank you" Murmured Eddy before gave Brett one chaste kiss on his cheek, then he slipped his toned arms around Brett slender frame, half burrying his face inside the crook of the older's neck.

"Yeah, yeah, sure" Brett said gruffly as he felt his cheeks heated up from his action, his hand found it's way to the younger's hair, petting it lightly.

Eddy made a contented sound from below his throat, "Hey Brett,

you know you can talk to me about anything right?"

His intense stare piercing through Brett's soul, even within the darkness, Brett could feel it.

Brett looked away "yeah..."

Eddy waited patiently, without breaking the intense stare. The older sighed heavily, a quiet surrender.

"it's just.." his mouth opened and closed like a koi fish out of water. "I don't know..... i can't put it into words"

well, more like i don't want to stop fucking you and still want to try it with Hyung at the same time..

Eddy made some small circles on his skin to comfort Brett "It's okay, you're never good with words, i know" Eddy kiss the side of Brett's neck. "just try"

"I.. just.." Brett took a deep breath,

"do you think i'd be able to find my soulmate?" Brett held his breath in, his mind all over the place.

Eddy lifted an eyebrow, that again? 

Brett sighed "i know it's getting weird, my fascination with soulmates"

"not really, we're all fascinated by that, one way or another" Eddy chuckled lightly "what bought this up? is it your mom again?" Eddy teased him.

".. maybe" Brett scratched his chin "maybe that was her influence, but i really want to know mine"

"hmmm" Eddy lifted up his head, "hey,...what if... what if it's--" he stopped mid-sentence.

It was now Brett's turn to wait for the other to finish his sentence.

But Eddy chose to shrugged it off, "nah, seriously,  what bought this up? something happened at the meeting?"

"Oy. You're the one who told me that i could tell you anything" Brett deadpaned, but let it slipped anyway "well... not really..." cause basically nothing really happened there.

"hmm, if you say so." Eddy succumbed back "you know, my mum was the opposite of yours when it comes to soulmate"

Brett nodded. Yes, he knew that Eddy's mum was not married to her soulmate, he never asked why though, too private.

"well, i never told you,  but that's because," Eddy stopped for dramatic effect,

"That's because her soulmate was a woman" He whispered the last sentence as if someone could heard that.

Oh. "So her family married her off??" Brett probed into the matter, which was not an uncommon thing within the more uptight asian family.

"nu-uh, it was all by her own account, marrying my dad,

you see, when my mum met my father, he was just lost his soulmate at that time"

Brett blinked. "that's a little bit messed up"

"yes, like most of the soulmates stories were" Eddy retorted "anyway, that, and her soulmate was already married when they met, she was like, 10 years older than her or something"

Sike, even worse "and to think the whole situation couldn't get worse" Brett stated dryly.

"yep" Eddy mused, popping the 'p' with much satisfaction.

Brett had relaxed with all this cuddling and talking to Eddy.  "thanks,.. for the story, i guess" That explained a lot.

"well, what i want to tell you is that," Eddy lower his head, snuggled closer to Brett,

"in the real world, soulmates often don't get happy ending" Eddy muffled in a low voice. "But, whether you get happy end or not, that's up to you." Eddy breath out the last words,  barely a whisper as his eyes fluttered shut, his mind drifting into peaceful sleep.

Brett reflected on what the other just said to him.

Yes,  he could still have his happy end, even without his soulmate, he knew he's capable of making his own happiness, especially with little admirer like Eddy by his side..

..But what about his soulmate?  they might have waited for Brett to come along their whole life,

only to find him happy with Eddy in his arms.

Now that's just sad, just like how his mother always said,

"imagine how your soulmate feels if you're not ended up with them, even marry other person! aya.. "

And to imagine if the soulmate was Hyung, ouch.

The smaller violinist caressed the other's back, seeking comfort in the warmth the other emitted.

His mind weighed down the options he had,

"Maybe Eddy shouldn't have to know afterall?"
