-a month a bit later-

me, jess and eliza had fallen asleep in her room last night while we were watching a movie so we woke up and me and jess headed back to our dorms to shower and change.

it was sunday so we took our time and chilled for a bit.

i hadn't heard from mattia so i thought he was sleeping in and id go see him later.

around 3pm ale sent a text to the group chat and told us to meet at the clearing so we left to meet them.

i sat on my log and waited for mattia to come but neither him or kairi showed up.

"has anyone spoken to him today?" i asked.

"i did but he was really bummed out and he wasn't saying anything" ale said.

just as he finished kairi came and sat down, also not looking the happiest.

"whats wrong kai?" jess asked him and he shrugged.

"mattia's not talking" he sighed and rubbed his face while jess put her hand on his shoulder.

"i'll check on him" i stood up.

"is he in your room?" i asked and kairi nodded and i made my way there.

i knocked on the door and no one answered. their door was usually left unlocked because they're stupid so i slowly eased it open just to check if he was in there. he wasnt.

i thought for a second and then made my way to where he'd be.

i got to the tower and opened the door and there he was. sat on the floor, blowing the vape smoke out before looking at me.

he looked sad.

i walked over to him and sat down too.

"you dont have to talk about it if you dont want to, i just want you to know im here" i said quietly.

he put the pen down and looked at me before moving my arm so he could lay his head on my lap. i played with his hair and after 30 minutes he'd fallen asleep. poor baby. i hope he's okay.

2 hours later he moved and rubbed his eyes and i gently kissed his cheek.

"good nap?" i asked and he nodded.

he woke up properly and sat up for a few minutes.

"ill be back in 10 minutes" i said quickly and he looked at me and gave me a nod before i left.

i ran to my room and shoved one of my old blankets in a bag and snuck into the kitchen and got us some food before coming back to the tower.

"lets go" i said to him and he looked confused.

"where?"

"im taking you on a date" i smiled and before he could object i took his hand and we walked to the back of the field and into the forest.

we walked until we found a nice even ground, surrounded by tall trees.

i took the blanket out and laid it on the ground sat down and so did he.

"what's this?" he asked and i bought out the food and i saw a smile creep on his face.

"picnic" i said.

we started eating and i looked at him. he was sad and i didnt know why or what i could do to help him.
