EPISODE 1 (1041 WORDS)

I was in my new home in Beacon Hills. It was much better here and I was already enjoying my new home as it was big and in the woods. People used to think I was weird for enjoying nature and creepy woods but it comes from my love of the mysterious darkness. I had always loved the thought of mythology and I had almost every myth book there was. I loved the idea of mermaids, vampires, Wendigos, werewolves and all kinds. I usually dreamt of becoming one.
I was in my home unpacking in the late hours of the day. It was pitch black and I had my first day of school tomorrow but the energy I got from my music kept me going. I was more excited than nervous for a new beginning.

I was stacking my books on the shelves I put up earlier when my door opened and my mum stood in the doorway.

"Shouldn't you be in bed?" My mum asked as I took out my headphones.

"I couldn't sleep until my room was sorted," I replied collecting the next arm full of books. My mum came over and took the books off of me before putting them away in the box and holding her hand out. I sighed and reluctantly handed her my MP3 player. She closed her hand around it before leaning forward and kissing me on the forehead.

"Goodnight." She said before leaving and closing my door. As soon as the door was closed I picked up my phone and plugged in my headphones. I always win!

I stacked some more books before hearing barking from outside my window and in the woods. I ran to my window excitedly to see beams of light coming from someone with a flashlight. After a while, more people could be seen with dogs and lights as I realised it was the police in the search for someone or something.

What could be so important to look for that would require so many officers so urgently? My eyes widened with excitement as my lips curled into a smile and I tripped over myself to put my shoes on and grab my flashlight and jacket. I love adventures! I ran to the stairs as fast as I could before hearing a knock on the front door. My mum walked over and answered it to reveal a man in a sheriff uniform smiling at her.

"Sorry to bother you ma'am but we were just looking for something and wondered if you had seen or heard anything suspicious?" He said in a questioning tone before looking up at me and smiling. I smiled back as my mum replied.

"No, sorry. We only got here a few hours ago." She informed as the man looked outside at the other officers who continued looking around.

"Alright, well it was nice to meet you. Welcome to Beacon Hills." He replied before looking at me with a smile and slightly nodding before walking away. My mum closes the door and before I could even move she was on full alert.

"No, no way are you going out there." She says without even looking at me.

"Mum, come on. You know this is my thing." I whined.

"No, You saw what happened this is serious. No leaving this house." She said looking at me intimidatingly before locking the door. I sighed and stomped back to my room. Once I closed the door I ran to my window and opened it up before climbing out. It was a big drop and I was sure my mum would hear me. A tree's branch was tempting me to jump as it wasn't too far. I took a deep breath before leaping for the branch and landing in the tree. I carefully climbed down before running deep into the woods being careful not to run into the police. I heard someone shouting but increased my pace as I thought the police had spotted me. I looked around to see flashlights moving closer next thing I know I run into someone and we both fall to the floor. He goes to say something but the police were so close that I jumped putting my hand over his mouth and pulling him behind a tree as the police ran past. I sighed out of relief and let go of the guy with the buzz-cut hair. He got up from the ground as another guy in a hoodie with slightly curly hair approached us. I got up and patted myself down.

"Who are you?" The first guy asked but before I could reply a light shone on him and I jumped up into the tree as the second guy hid behind another

"Who are you?" The first guy asked but before I could reply a light shone on him and I jumped up into the tree as the second guy hid behind another. I sat in the branches looking down at them. Hiding from sight. The officer's dog barked crazily as the officer shouted at the guy.

"Hang on, Hang on." Another officer shouted. The sheriff. "This little delinquent belongs to me."

"Dad, How are you doing?" He asked standing up straight. Dad?

"So, do you, uh, listen in to all of my phone calls?" The sheriff asked his son.

"No, heh." He sighed out. "Not the boring ones," He added making me snigger. The sheriff heard me and flashed his light in the direction of the tree I was in. I covered my mouth and sat back so I wouldn't be seen.

"Is that your usual partner in crime?" He asked still searching in my direction.

"Who, Scott? Sc-Scott's home." He panted. "He said he wanted to get a good night's sleep for the first day back at school tomorrow. It's just me. In the woods. Alone." He replied as the sheriff searched some more not trusting his son.

"Scott, you out there?" He shouted as Scott stood with his back against a tree in hiding. "Scott?" "Well, young man, I'm gonna walk you back to your car and you and I are gonna have a conversation about something called an invasion of privacy." The sheriff said dragging his son away. I looked over to see Scott cursing under his breath. Once they were gone I climbed out of the tree and walked over to Scott.
