I was hiding in the tunnel, waiting for them to appear since it was half time. The team, especially my moms were not playing a great game. Sure it was tied, but I know they can play better then they are right now.
I felt my heart beat speed up with nervousness and excitement as I saw the team walking into the locker room. making sure I stayed hidden until I saw a certain two player.
They were the last to head to the locker and it looked like they were having a bad time.
Now is the time I thought, stepping from my hiding spot.
"I know you guys can play better then that. Even I can beat you both right now" I said with a smile as I saw my moms freeze at my voice before turning around a look of shock on their faces.
Mama was the first to race to me and pull me into a hug before pulling away and placing her hands on my face looking at me with tears but a huge smile on her lips before pepper my faces with kisses.
"Mama, stop" I laughed as she pulled me into another hug, which I gladly returned.
"I can't believe you are here" she said pulling away and looking to mom who was still staring at me in disbelief.
"Hi mom. I've missed you" I said starting to feel unsure about coming as I shift my weight between my two feet nervously
"How are you here? You haven't answered anyone's calls or text" mom said looking at me as I never play glanced away
"My biological mom dropped me off. It was easier to cut you guys off at the time. Trying to started a new life while holding on to the old one is hard" I said as tears started to fill my eyes. Does she not want me here? That thought was gone quickly because the next second I was wrapped in her arms
"I've miss you so much" she said as I snuggled into her for comfort that I've been missing the past 2 months. I had never gone that long being apart from her since I was adopted. To say it hasn't taken a told one me, would be a lie.
Once we pulled apart I felt mama come from behind and pull me into her from behind as she rested her head on my shoulder as mom cupped my check wiping my happy tears.
"A guess now would be a good time to tell you guys, my biological parents are giving up their right to you. They are letting me tell you, but the lawyer will being sending the paperwork over tomorrow" I said smiling as mom pulled mama and me into her arms "I'm coming back home" I continued
"We love you" mom whispered into my hair
"So much, we aren't letting you go again" mama continued in my ear
"Love you too, now you guys got a game to win and I've got people to cheer up" I said as they released me and I took off towards the locker room, hearing them laugh. Spearing a look back to see mom and mama share a kiss before they followed me with looks of relief on their face.
