I stood on the field, nervously waiting for the team to come out. It had been a long deployment and I couldn't wait to see Lindsey.
I felt my nerves rise as the minutes passed. I looked around the field and the soccer balls caught my attention. Why not juggle for a little bit? It will be a good distraction.
I made my way over and started to mess around, my focus completely on the soccer ball in front of me.
After a few minutes, I distracted by my name being called.
I instant dropped the ball and looked up to see the team.
I froze for a second before looking for the one person I wanted to see most.
My smile grew as I saw her standing their in shock with Tobin and Christen by her side smiling at me.
I made my way over to her and watched as her eyes followed me in shock before realization finally hit her and she came running to me. Pulling me into her arms as I hugged her back.
I pulled away as a huge smile was on both of our faces
"You're here" she said amazed
"I always keep my promise" I said as I wiped her tears with the pad of thumb
It was that moment she pulled me in to a passionate kiss that I've been missing. I could help but smile into the kiss before pulling away.
"I love you" she said causing me to smile back and touch the object in my pocket as I felt myself get increasingly nervous and my heart rate pick up at what I was about to do
"That good to hear for what I'm about to do" I said as I saw her expression change to confusion before I pulled the box out of my pocket and dropped to on knee. He expression changed to happiness as she brought her hands to face in shock.
I open the box with a huge smile, feeling my nerves slowly leave as I looked at the love of my life.
"Being away from you has given me a lot of free time to think about us and our future. It has made me realize just how much I love you, how much I can't live with out you. That I want to start a family with you, grow old with you. I've learn life is a precious thing and there is not point in waiting for something you want" I said as I saw with a big smile looking down at me
"Will you marry me?" I asked as she nodded her head and grabbed my hand pulling me towards he in a kiss.
I heard cheering and yelling around me as we pulled apart and I placed the ring on her finger.
"I love you so much" I said with smile
Instant we were surrounded by everyone pulling us into hugs and congratulating us.
"I'm so glad your back and okay" Christen said pulling me into a hug, which Tobin joined in kissing me head with a smile
"We are all glad you are back" Tobin said with a smile as they release me and gently shoved me to my fiancé with a smile who was talking to Emily.
I looked at her with a smile as I walked to her and wrapped my arm around her waist and giving her kiss on the cheek before I looked over a Emily
"Now I'm going to go kill your best friend" I said with a smile as Lindsey laughed.
I looked over an saw Emily smile turn to one of worry.
"You had one job. To let me know when she was coming" I said as I took off after her as she ran away
"I'm sorry, but you weren't answering your phone" she kept saying until I managed to tackle her to the ground and held her there as she looked at me with a nervous smile
"Your lucky your my fiancé best friend or you would be dead" I said getting off her which caused a look of shock to cross her face along with everyone else that I let her go.
I made my way over to Lindsey with a smile as she just looked at me with an amused expression.
"I love you" I said pulling her to me as I love over her again, happy to be with her
"I love you too" she said pulling me in for another kiss
"Go practice, I'll be here when it and ends" I said pulling away and gently pushing her towards her teammates.
I felt my heart fill with adoration as she kept looking back at me until she reached her teammates who were smiling at us.
