Chapter 5
Naina’s POV
I woke up the next morning confused but feeling a buzz in my stomach. I think back to last night. Aman was great. He had left a note on my bedside table last night with a little message about how he enjoyed it so much along with his number. I was really happy that he gave me his number and I really would like to meet him again after last night.I reached for my phone and added his number in.
I got up out of bed and did my usual morning routine. As I came out of the bathroom, my phone pinged. I grabbed it from my bedside table and read the message.

‘Have you forgotten me already? Been here a couple hours and not even a sound out of you.’

It was Abhi! I gasped with surprise  when I realised that I had forgotten that Abhi was coming today.

‘Aah! I completely forgot! What room are you in??’  I replied.

‘ Haha,  I’m in Block C, room 10. My  roommate is out atm.”

“kk. On my way” I sent that text and grabbed the first thing that was in my cupboard  to wear. I slipped on my converse and walked down to his block. It wasn’t too far away which is great. As I walked down, I thought back to last night. It was all so quick but I enjoyed every bit of it. I can’t wait to tell Abhi. Wait...maybe I shouldn’t tell him. I mean, I have never kept any secrets from him but it feels as though this shouldn’t be something that I should tell him. If I did, he would most probably get pissed at the fact that I said yes to some player and would end up lecturing me about my ‘safety’ and what not.

I walked into the building and up to his room. I knocked on the door and stood here, waiting. A couple of minutes passed and i knocked again….no answer. Ugh! This always happens with Abhi. He never opens the door!

“Abhi! Open the door, man!” I shouted, facing the door. The door opened and there he was, standing with a box of things and a gigantic smile on his face.

“Naina! What took you so long?” He gestured for me to come in.
“What do you mean ‘what took you so long’? I was waiting outside for ten minutes. You never opened the door.” I jokingly hit him on his shoulder and walked in. I sat myself down on his bed, my legs dangling off the side.

"How's it been? You know, alone and without me?" He joked.

"It's been good. The train ride was pretty interesting but besides that, everything has been good." Damn it Naina! You weren't supposed to say anything!

"What happened?" He asked. There was both a tone of humour and tension.

"Umm...nothing. I spilt my coffee, that's all." Great job Naina! I suck at lying to Abhi actually in general. I mentally face-palmed myself.

"Good try but you can't lie to me." He chuckled but then became serious. He looked at me, a hint on worry in his eyes.

"Sigh...fine. Look, it's nothing serious. This guy made this really cheesy and disgusting line at me. He grabbed my wrist while I was getting my coffee and flirted. That's all." I could see the concern appear on his face. "Abhi, I promise nothing else happened. I shouted at him for doing that then walked away. I met him the next day while I was walking through the campus. He asked if I would go out to dinner with him that night and I said yes. He told me it was his way to say sorry. He took me out to dinner at a restaurant and then we walked and talked on the beach before he dropped me back." I nervously told him. I cringed, anticipating the lecture to come.

"Naina...how could you trust a guy like that? He shamelessly hit on you!" Abhi lectured me. I know that his intentions are good but I hate how he lectures me like I'm some sort of child.

"Calm down Abhi! I know what I'm doing. I promise, I'm being safe," I said quickly. Reassuring him was my only option now.

"Ok but I don't trust this guy." He said, ending the conversation.

"How was your trip here? Did you end up driving like you said or train?" I changed the topic as quickly as possible.

Abhi's POV
I don't trust him at all. Naina is very sensitive. At one point in time, I was her only friend. She was and still is very vulnerable. Her heart gets broken very easily, especially after her parents died when she was 13.

I don't want to seem like her father, that's her brothers job but I need to look out for her. If that guy ever breaks her heart, he will be hearing from me. Naina is one of a kind and if he doesn't realise that then he isn't good enough for her.
