Let me remind you
that the thief, the fraud, the murderer---
they were once
little innocent creaturesThey were once a being
with hopes and dreams
twinkled on their eyes
But got lost
On what was once
The path for their success in lifeSo, look at them
Not in rage
But with pity in your eyesBecause, let me remind you
that the thief, the fraud, the murderer---
they were once people
who believed in the worldAt some point on their timeline
There was once purity
And love, and goodness, and honesty
Of what now became dark soulsSouls were tinted
With the evil that lurks around them
Hopes were washed away
Like how the sands
were crashed with the ocean waves
Dragging them from the shore
To the deepest and darkest part
of the seaThey were once toddlers
Whose smiles were a treasure
To their parents
and to those who sees them giggle
with genuine heartsTheir souls once stumbled in a pit
And once they picked up the pieces
It was already tinted with dirt and darkness
Along with loneliness, rage, and remorseBut again,
Let me remind you
That they were once
Curious and adventurous beings
Who knew nothing about the worldWondering what was good or evil
And what was right or wrong
Why does it feel wrong to be good?
And why does it feel right to be evil?Thoughts of doing good were neglected
People around them seemed to favor the wrong
They've got nothing else to do
But let their feathers flock the same way the others doBut have you thought
If kindness, love, and generosity were being shown to them
If being good was taught
If honesty and loyalty was practiced
If they had good role models
Would they still be the same by now?Would their eyes still mirror horror?
Or would it mirror peace?
Would it still be darkness that they'd spread?
Or light and hope for the beings? It could have been love that they committed
And not a crime that they would regret
