Chapter twenty-three: adoption

(five months later, Jen and Josh already got married, sorry I was to lazy to write a marige chapter)

Jen's POV

I smiled as I heard Ivy's little footsteps running to my door. The door handle jiggled for a minute before she figured it out and opened it. She squeled when she saw me finsih brushing my hair. I bent down and put my arms out. She ran to me and I picked her up. "Mommy!" She laughed and I smiled. "Good morning sweetie. Did you have fun at Jen's?" She noded and I smiled agian. 

"Kitty!" She whined and I chuckled. "Ok let's go find Cleo." I carried her downstairs and we found Cleo and pippi having a staring contest on the couch. I set her down and she ran to them. "Kitty!" She started petting him as my phone rang. Josh is finsihing up some coffee for us in the kitchen. 

I grabbed my phone and answerd it. "Hello?" I asked confused. "Jen." I recognized the voice, bryanna. "What?" I asked, my voice cold. "Jen I need your help!" She sounded like she had been crying. "What's wrong?" I asked as Josh came in and handed me coffee. "Nick, he left us when I had the baby, I can't take care of her anymore by myself, she needs a better life. She deserves a family who can take care of her, one with two parents who can love her and her sister. Please, take her!" 

She started crying and I was shocked. "Oh my God! Bry!" I exclamed, "Jen please!" She sobbed and I could hear a baby start crying in the background. "Of course, where?" "The adoption center on Maine street." "Ok." She hung up. Josh looked at me confused. "Jen?" "Josh get ivy!" He noded and put a jacket on her and carried her to the car. 

"Jen what's going on?" "Nick abanoded Bry and his child, and she can't take care of her anymore! Josh you should have heard her on the phone. Nick's destroying everything!" He could hear the anger in my voice. We got to the adoption center and we got out. I picked up ivy and she smiled. 

We walked inside and Bry smiled softly at us. "Mommy I want milk!" Ivy whined and I noded. "Ok hold on." She layed her head down on me and I sighed. We walked up to bryanna and she sighed. "Are you ok?" She nodded. "I'm fine, but she deserves better." I noded and a social worker came over. "Bryanna has already covered everything all you need to do is sign here." We noded and signed. 

Bry picked up a babies car seat off the floor and handed it to us. "What's her name?" Josh asked. "Holly Natile." We noded and ivy looked at Holly. "What's that?" I chuckled and smiled. "That's your sister." Her mouth dropped and we laughed. "Woah!" She exclaimed and Josh took her from me. "Daddy I want a baby too!" Joshs eyed widened and I rolled my eyes. "Josh stop she doesn't understand she's only one." 

Bry sighed. "You wanna hold her before we go?" She noded and picked Holly up. "I love you sweetheart, your going to go live with your sister and her parents ok? Don't worry I'll always love you." She kissed her head and set her back down. She had tears in her eyes and she left. 

I sighed and buckled her back in. "Looks like we're going shopping." Josh said as we walked outside and I noded. "Double the dipapers, double the bottles, double everything." Josh said with a laugh and I smiled. "mommy?" I looked at ivy as I got Holly's car seat in the car and Josh buckled ivy in. "Where do babies come from?" I chuckled, "I'll tell you when we get home." She noded and me and Josh got in the car. 

"Josh?" He looked at me. "I'm sorry." He looked confused. "Why?" I sighed, "for rushing out like that and just adopting a kid without talking to you. We haven't even talked about if we want kids together, I mean yeah we have ivy but i didn't mean to get pregnant with her and I couldn't just give her away, and yeah I know you want your own kids but we didn't talk about it or anything. I just adopted a kid without even say a word." 

He sighed and grabbed my hand. "Jen, don't be sorry, we never had to talk about it. We would have known when we were ready for our own. But it's Ivy's little sister, neither of us would want her to end up in a bad situation. I don't care if you asked or not I'm with whatever you do. And about us having our own, I'm happy with those two girls back there. I love them like my own, and if you never want to get pregnant agian I understand, what happened with Nick and ivy really scard you." 

I smiled and he smiled too. "I love you." He told me and I noded. "I love you too." I sudonly started laughing as we parked at babies R us and he looked at me. "What?" "Our friends and famlies reaction to Holly." He laughed too and we fell into a laughing fit. 

When we finally calmed down we put on our sunglasses and got out. I got ivy and Josh got Holly. We walked inside and ivy saw a stuffed kitty. "Kitty!" She started doing her cute little run which is her running a few steps before almost falling over and it just repetes. It's so cute. 

I smiled and picked her up. "Kitty!" She said getting upset, "well get the kitty, don't worry." She noded and I started bouncing her as we found Josh. "What do you have?" "Dipaper's, bottles, and pacifiers." I noded, "so we still blankets, and clothes?" "yup." I smiled and he kissed me qickly. 

"want to help mommy and daddy find clothes for sissy?" She noded and we started looking around. "Looky!" I looked and saw ivy pointing at a sleeper with cats on it. I laughed and grabbed it. A while went by me we finally got home. Holly started crying as Josh set some bags down on the floor. "What's wrong with baby?" Ivy asked concurned. "She's just hungry." I told her.

I picked up holly and Josh made a bottle. He handed it to me and I started feeding her. "Want me to go upstairs and build her crib?" I noded, "sure." He walked up stairs and ivy got on the couch next to us and stared at her. "What's that?" Ivy asked pointing to the bottle. I smiled, "it's a bottle, and it has Sissy's food in it." She smiled and grabbed my locket Josh got me for our wedding. 

It has a picture of me holding ivy the day she was born in the hospital and one of me and Josh having a good fight while trying to bake a cake. She stopped drinking the bottle and I started Burping her. "Where do babies come from?" I chuckled and looked at ivy. I set Holly in her car seat and put ivy in my lap. 

Im going to explain this to her the best way that I can to a one year old. "They come from mommy's belly's." She looked at me confused. "Ok when mommy's and daddy's really love each other. They have a baby and it grows big and strong in a mommy's belly untill it's born." Her mouth dropped. "Really?" I noded. "Woah!" I laughed and she smiled. 

"the cribs done!" Josh said coming into the room. "Daddy, mommy had a baby in her belly!" Josh looked at me confused and I pointed to Holly. "I didn't want to tell her yet. So she thinks that I had her in my stomach too." He noded and picked up ivy. "Your such a smart girl." She giggled and I smiled. 

"You wanna hold her?" She looked at me and noded. Josh set her on the couch and I picked up holly. "Ok, put your arm here, and your other here." I looked at Josh. "Josh babies are heavy and she's still little, can you put a pillow or something under her arms so she doesn't drop her?" He noded and did as I asked.

I put Holly in her arms and her eyes widened. "Woah!" We laughed and Josh sat next to me. "She's going to be a great big sister." I noded. "Holly is going to have a great home here." I Noded, "I just can't believe he did it agian." He sighed, "me neaither." I looked back at the girls with a smile. She really is going to be a great big sister to her.
